News on the new law bill for the Indonesian people to be punished by being whipped 100 times because they've been interfered in homosexual relationships, including two women touching each other and arousing each other.

Are there any Indonesians in here? Is this law against public abuse or will people start to tell on each other and just being gay will end them get punished?

The articles indicates that people get whipped for gambling in Indonesia. So whipping is a common method.

^^^ Pretty sure it was Ivbin Jerkinov.

Anyhow, I think GVC spent some time there as a Mormon missionary. Maybe he'll chime in.

GVC joked about the Black Swordsman joining ISIS because he is not here anymore. What kind of a Mormon missionnaire is he? I thought Mormon missionnaries would be positive and joyful people.

who cares.

it is just nature trying to restore balance.

in one part of the world you allow them to get "married".

so in another part to maintain equilibrium they will get WHIPPED like a Rented mule

That's pretty tame compared to the way we treat them here in the US. We don't even let them play regular season football.

1. I joked about TBS joining ISIS because he was an ******* and Muslim. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if that kid ended up doing something stupid like that. I wouldn't make that joke about anyone else on the board.

2. I'm not Mormon anymore, and have very little respect for any religious dogma.

3. The law you're referring to has not been passed, and is not a national law. It has been proposed in the province of Aceh, which is particularly Muslim. I'm not surprised at all.

So basically you had given up on religions but exclusively hate Islam?

I don't want to speak for my Gay Vegan friend, but where or when has he ever said that? As far as anti-religious people go, GVC is one of the more practical, non threatening posters on this board. His comment about Islam above reminded me of how stereotypes exist in religion, and they are what they are, because, well, they just are. Mormons have tons of them, and sadly, we've earned most of them. The Mormon-run state of Utah is an embarrassing example of anti-gay rhetoric, and it wouldn't surprise me to see ridiculous attempts at this type of legislation (not whipping, obviously) before my life is over.

You are right about the stereotypes unfortunately. And I was just poking him with a stick. It's not like I intend to call him anything. Maybe in you guys' shoes, I would literally hate Muslims who knows? We cannot escape subjectivity hundred percent coz we all are subjects. But I will always demand more open views when someone says some stuff like "they are muslims? Hmf. Figures."

I totally agree with you, and by no means do I condone that type of small mindedness. I think Islam is a beautiful religion and feel it's a shame that a small groups actions can destroy the image of so many good people. The FLDS church ( and a lot of mainstream LDS idiots, tbpfhwy) has essentially done the same thing to LDS people. I see and talk to a lot of out-of-towers and I inevitably get the "how many wives do you have" question at least once a month.

That's right. For one thing, stereotypes are strong in the perception of Turks. It reveals itself on an extreme level about Kurds. You know, because of the conflict. And even the educated people I know have their stereotypes about Mormons. One relative of mine saw my goatee when I was in college and he was like "are you a mormon? You should also grow a moustache or you are a mormon" And then someone else was like "weren't they the ones avoiding technology?" You can imagine my face. I just went "yeap all of us goatee men are part of a single religion"

Haha, I wasn't aware that Mo's and goatees were associated with one another.

I think I'll shave tomorrow morning.

You'd be wise to look around for polls on support for Sharia law in majority Muslim countries. Submission may be the central tenet of Islam; it shouldn't surprise any thinking person that repression is so pervasive in the Muslim world.

I wouldn't be suprised if the creators of southpark have mr slave going to Indonesia in next weeks episode.
