The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

I;ve watched a few videos where people announce them as "Biden can't even form a sentence" and I see a guy who is not an elegant speaker but who is doing just fine. This whole thing about him being a bumbling incoherent mess is being blown way out of proportion.

This is the natural conclusion to Alan’s argument during impeachment. The president is an absolute monarch and can do whatever he wants.

Our constitution says we have a president, not a king. It is President Trump, not King Trump.

Governor Cuomo replies to Trump’s claim:

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/v..._have_a_constitution_we_dont_have_a_king.html

"I don't agree," Cuomo said on CNN. "I don't agree with the president's legal analysis. The president doesn't have total authority. We have a constitution. We don't have a king. We have an elected president. That's what our founding fathers did when they wrote the constitution. And the constitution clearly says the powers that are not specifically listed for the federal government are reserved to the states. And the balance between federal and state authority was central to the constitution, it's one of the great balances of power. And the constitution has served his nation very well for a long time. Again, they didn't want a king otherwise we would have have had King George Washington. we didn't. we had President George Washington elected by the people."

Screw the media.

All of this if BS. The media did not like hearing their own words back at them.

Fortunetly, we have the in depth reports from the Post and the Times. Trump's desperate revisionist history is utterly destroyed by these two reports. And future historians will refer to these reports in understanding and describing what happened, and not the pathetic propaganda of the wanna be "King" Trump:

https://mobile.twitter.com/jamesfallows/status/1249434142338691073

https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2020/04/04/coronavirus-government-dysfunction/

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/11/us/politics/coronavirus-trump-response.html

No amount of alternative facts, no slick propaganda videos, none of "King" Trump's bs can stand up to the facts contained in these two reports. As Fallows states in his tweet, together these two reports are the Pentagon Papers of our time and place. This is the history future generations will turn to in judging our fake president.

I mean, the reality is, can Trump form an intelligent complete sentence? Like sure, he can form sentences here and there, but they’re not intelligent.

Please, ****ing please Biden, select Cuomo as your VP. ****ing please. Don’t select a woman just to select a woman. It’s transparent and no one gives a **** about some running mate like Kate Brown. People will be inspired with Cuomo as the selection. They’ll be enthusiastic. They’ll want to go out and vote. Some woman who no one’s heard of does nothing. If you think it sways fringe Republican women who already clearly didn’t vote Hilary and voted for a scumbag who grabs women by the ***** like Trump, you’re a ****ing moron. A large base of R women still think it’s 1955.

I don’t understand why Trump would take on the ‘Obama gave us faulty tests’. This is a new strain that occurred after he left office. Of course they aren’t going to work.

I understand Cuomo has a decent following in the Atlantic states, but in the Midwest he's a non-entity.

In this particular case, he uses two of his strongest tactics. Being a ****ing idiot (those kits wouldn’t work for Covid) and blaming others.

Much of the states following his recent speeches have shown a strong liking to him nationally and have been those outside of the Democratic Party. Moreover, catering to a region is dumb imo. Yes, candidates have to be aware of region’s needs and interests. Let’s say farming for one. But to select some impotent candidate who brings nothing to the table so far as leadership, intelligence, and inspiration goes is a bad ****ing idea imo. Because let’s not forget Biden’s age and coherence here. Many won’t vote with Jane Mommy Next Door as the next in line should Biden drop dead. They want someone they know would be a good President should that happen. Hell, it might be why McCain lost the election. He chose a ****inng idiot as his rm because she was a female and I presume, attractive. And let’s talk bottom line here. Isn’t that what people should want? A great leader who is highly intelligent and inspires people? Sadly, those days might have passed. Look no further than the Idiot in Chief and how selfishly people vote.

Interesting. I see Trump as an extreme promoter and I can see why that bothers people who dislike his policies. I do not see him as incoherent. Meanwhile, to me Biden has always been somewhat of a bumbler but recently he seems to be completely losing his faculties. I have not seen a recent interview where he has made any sense at all. I believe that he has known for a while that his mental faculties are slipping. This is why he has suggested that he might not even be able to finish a first term. I think a debate between Biden and Trump would be a complete train wreck, and the certain casualty will be Biden.

The idea that electing Biden so that his unelected cabinet could take over and run the country while he takes naps and drinks soup (which is where he appears to be headed in the short term) is not very comforting.
Trump does have a carnival barker aspect about him, I can see how that could be interpreted as an extreme promoter. But 45 often speaks in sentence and thought fragments, and stumbles over words. He, at times, is no more eloquent than Joe on occasion. I'm not a big fan of Biden, but to take one or two clips and equate that to a total loss of faculty is no fairer than taking a clip or two of the president stumbling over words and labeling that a sign of senility.

As far as electing someone who does not think that he has to have all the answers and can rely on the advice of experts, scientists, and professionals...that would be far superior in my mind to Trump who has shown that he can tolerate no challenge to his ego. He bristles at criticism and always has to be seen as being the best and brightest...even when he has no clue what he is talking about. I will jump at the chance to have someone who takes a team approach to governing than the current "I know best about everything" approach. And if he states upfront that he will be bringing in the kind of cabinet that I described, then in a sense we will be electing them as well. So I don't worry about the unelected part of your response, it is a nonfactor to me.

Meh, he's on par with Trump as far as sounding like a stroke victim. I do think Biden and Trump are sleazy POS's and have no business leading the USA. What a cluster F of embarrasment for the past 4 years, well maybe 8 years. Just proves you have to be a fake lying pos or a career politician who's long since sold his soul to the actual devil to get any kind of power in this world. What a joke.

I hear ya. Because his briefings have been an impressive display of leadership qualities. Quite a contrast to Trump. In an interview Tuesday, on Morning Joe, he recommended that governors not watch Trump’s briefings, nothing to learn or gain.

“Did you have a chance, governor, to see the president's briefing?” Brzezinski asked dryly. “Would there be value for a governor to watch that?”

“No, a governor should not watch that,” Cuomo replied. “There is no value in it.”

“It is infuriating and offensive, and, frankly, ignorant of the facts,” he continued. “The president stood up and said forget the Constitution of the United States, forget the concept of federalism. To hear a Republican stand up there, by the way, and argue for big government and total authority of the federal government is somewhat amusing. If it wasn't so serious, it would be funny, all of this, it could be a comedy skit.”

At the same time, Cuomo added. “It's frightening. This is the last place we should be, this crazy politics, this absurd positioning when we're talking about life and death. And we really have the toughest governmental problem we've ever faced right in front of us, and we have to deal with this absurdity.” (https://www.thedailybeast.com/andre...-not-watch-trumps-daily-coronavirus-briefings)

I doubt he joins the ticket, but he’s shown what a born leader looks and acts like, IMO. He has really stood out, his briefings must see TV. “Must see” just for the opportunity to be impressed by leadership, after what we’ve had since 2016. To remember, “oh yeah, this is what leadership looks like.” Just one more reminder of how far we have fallen, but offering hope that yeah, we still have leaders in this country.

Biden has the excuse of being a former stutterer. You can work out of the stutter, but I don't think you ever become a smooth, extemporaneous speaker.

It's not even about saying things fluently. It's about not saying crazy psycho stuff. Tump and Biden both fail miserably.
