Mitchell Will be Traded Today (9/1/22)

I have a different reaction to the TJ quote. If he really "hasn't given everything to this team" yet, that's ********. He's a max player making $40m per or whatever it is (I don't actually know) and was on a team in the top half of the WC standings. Not giving everything to the team would be flat out inexcusable.
Very fair read. I won't begrudge anyone thinking this way.

I don't like Herro as the main piece of such a trade for a rebuilding team.
I don't like it either... I could see him getting us something I might like more. I could see either last year being a sign of things to come and he improves or it being a bit of an outlier. Only having one more cheap year on his deal is less than ideal.

I don't think he goes full Devin Booker glow up... but if you look at the numbers he could become a poor man's version. I would not have predicted Devin to do what he did either. The three Miami picks and swaps are the "headliners" to me. I'd have them shop Herro for the best pick package they could get and then decide if I prefer picks or Herro or no deal.

I think I read somewhere that there is bad blood between DA and Riley. Anybody else see that? It would make sense,

Lots... Riley had it printed in a memo to tell Danny to eff himself. We have Wade/Fiz to help smooth that transition but if we do the Miami deal Danny will get every scrap he can.

The titles to this thread got me excited. Now I see it’s just another attempt by Cy to troll lopo.

This schtick got old a long time ago.
Y'all are so weird.

It's just a funny thread made for the people who are anticipating a Donovan trade.

If anyone is butthurt over it, that's on them. Nothing inflammatory is being said

I know this is a joke btw... was just messing with you by comping you to Big Mike.

If I was setting odds...

- 60% chance we trade for a minor win now deal for JC or Ayton. The price should be low at least so its fine I guess.
- 40% chance we deal Donovan for an enormous package. I would settle for less than Danny would and so I can see him just waiting it out unless there is a secret trade demand. Woj and CAA keeping it under the radar so Don can get to his preferred destination. I just think it is odd he has posted nothing about the team. This isn't like he isn't in Utah or some BS... just not so much as a welcome tweet to Hardy or love tweet to Quin or Royce. Then we axed like all his bros.

Most likely outcome to me is that Mitchell is traded. If I had to bet, it would be Miami, but I would prefer it to be NYK with their picks and young players. I also think BKN is still very much in play despite Simmons/Mitchell rule complications. I think Conley ends up in BKN in the aftermath of a Kyrie trade.

I don't hate a barebones version of the Jazz with Mitchell and Ayton. If we end up with Ayton, we will get him at a value that is way less than what we could trade him for if things don't work and/or Mitchell demands out anyways. I think the motivation to get Ayton goes down if Mitchell is not playing, but I still think I'd trade for him if all it took was Bogey and a bad first or two.

I think we are a helpful partner in any Kyrie or KD trade. I've thought what if we routed Bogey to LA with Kyrie so that Brooklyn can get both Lakers picks they can trade (that is the holdup right)... we could take Westbrook (maybe THT) to save them some money... Conley goes to Brooklyn sprinkle in another contract or two to make it all work. Ayton comes our way (then we'd maybe send JC to Phoenix?) we get Ayton for JC, Bogey, Conley (or Bev or Vandy in there) and we don't really touch any of our draft assets. Grease the wheels for all involved and work it that way... its a lot of salary so I haven't figured out exactly how it all works, but like there is stuff there... then all the pundits look back at it like the Jarret Allen trade to Cleveland and they are like "how the hell did the Jazz come out of that with Ayton again".

We have all these good useful players on decent range of contract sizes and TPEs and such we can use to make it work. I would almost bet we are involved as a fourth or fifth team in some capacity even if it isn't that big.

Also I do think Heat do "something" as once they sign Herro they can't trade him... they might risk going into the season with him as a pending FA. I just think it gets harder for them to do a big move after this offseason.

We can save Brooklyn around 21M in salary by taking Westbrook back assuming they do a Durant deal with Phoenix.

Yes, the Jazz need to be looking into trading Bogey, Conley, Beverley, and JC in any scenario. When it comes to Ayton, I really hope we don't let something like the 25th pick in the draft prevent us from taking a chance on him.

Jovic drops 25 in summer league... will the prophesy of Cy be fulfilled. If he has an awesome summer league then adds the extra hype to the Heat package maybe?
