To start the season the Jazz had Kessler and Ace on the court. No-one, absolutely no-one, was advocating for "let's start winning now".

Whatever Collier/Hendricks/Flip/Sensabaugh/Cody/Walt are or are not has little effect on how well the Jazz do in the future.

The Jazz own all those same draft picks right now. And as a whole they have deteriorated in value (Lakers pick not looking good and somehow the Suns seem to not be bad).

So, unless the Jazz are super-lucky, what exactly has changed to suddenly quit tanking and start "let's go for it"? Everyone's patience is done? Doesn't really sound like a solid plan.

It's clear that patience is running out between ownership and the FO. I don't think making decisions based on patience (or lack thereof) is a recipe for success, but at this point I have to just accept that this is true. My hope is that the lack of patience doesn't force them into making a move for the sake of making a move and trying to push forward asap.

But as far as what will have changed and why we won't tank as much next year....are you being serious? Are you not aware of the pick protection situation?

The team looks different pretty much every game.

Why would that lead to the Jazz suddenly to stop tanking? (unless they get super-lucky)
That isn't what leads to the jazz to stop tanking.
Their pick not being protected AND having multiple all star level players on the team is what will lead to the jazz not tanking.
I'm pretty sure you already knew the answer to your own question though and are just trolling.
Back to ignoring..

So let's throw the getting super-lucky out. The reason the Jazz should tank this year, but not the next, is to get the #7 pick.

Sure, everyone always believes that our pick is the one that will hit. But what is the realistic expectation of the realistic pick's value to the direction of the franchise?

That is the situation right now. If you believe Keyonte is an All-Star, he's that now (as is Lauri obvs).

Why are you throwing out the potential to be lucky? I would love to hear your path forward that does not require luck.

You don’t have to consider the 7th pick to be franchise changing in order to want to tank for it. It just has to be greater than the alternative. In this case, the alternative is nothing. There is no benefit to the Jazz not tanking.

The Jazz also didn’t make the decision to tank for the 7th pick. To Fish’s point, things have changed. Key is much better than expected. The major choice to tank was made in the off season. Had they been 100% certain Key was this good, maybe they approach the off season differently. This upcoming off season the Jazz know Key is this good and have a greater cap space opportunity. So when you take into account the lack of pick protection, the absence of a “generational draft, the knowledge of Key’s growth, the great opportunity cost of punting FA, and the natural development of young guys which make tanking more difficult…of course it’s a different decision to make.

The problem with your incessant complaining is that you don’t argue for anything. If you don’t think tanking is good, please provide a path forward and see if it meets your own standard of what is worth doing. Earlier you mentioned that the Jazz really need to trade for a backup C. Is that truly franchise changing and why must it be done now?

just trying to enjoy good play I am really looking forward to next season when there won't be a confused feeling as to whether you're cheering for a win or loss though, 3 more months of this weird **** then it's done. Really gonna just enjoy seeing who improves, hope for a good result come May and then next season absolutely back to hoping for a win every game again.

Quite glad they're looking very much like tanking out the rest of this season though

Yeah... originally, last year was supposed to be the final tank season. Then it changed.

There's no particular reason why the tanking should stop. There are always some tantalizing blue chippers in the next draft.

Let it play out.

Thats the fun of it. Silly season means there's no expectation whatsoever. We have something to cheer for no matter we win or lose.

literally nobody thought last year was the last. As for the draft after the coming one there's not that much going on in that one apparently This is clearly the last tank year
