I thought Niang was great against the Warriors. Pushed the pace on all his rebounds and got the Jazz into early offense.

If we've lowered our standards that hard to then be able to say that any of the dudes who were -17 or -18, and were complete sieves on defense, were great by grabbing a few measly boards and pushed the pace a little, then count me out of that school of thought. The only dude that was the least worst yesterday was Mudiay.

Niang should not be playing at all unless we're in a unique end of game situation where we need a three. That's it. That's all. It's the only situation where he is useful on the floor.

It's not even a debate as to Bradley having played better than Ed this season Fish. Problem is, Ed has been a positive player for his whole career, and the Jazz are banking on that type of play to come back this year. So therefore, we have a guy who deserves to play right now, but the team is playing the more proven player, who is clearly struggling because of my previous sentence.

I'm actually quite concerned that we're putting positive reinforcement on that type of bench play, minus Mudiay perhaps.

Even the Jazz have Jeff Green as the sub of the game for that type of play?

No one on the bench is the problem. The Jazz just need one more rotation guy, but no specific player is causing the issues individually.

I mean, pushing the pace for potential easy baskets is pretty important. He's like the 10th man on the team. A big part of the reason Niang is in the NBA is because he legitimately does make players around him better on offense combined with his shooting prowess.

It's weird af to see yall try to create scapegoats.

It's clear Jeff Green cant play in this offense. It's an offense that relies on quick decision making and Jeff Green slows it down in the half-court. It turns him into a 3pt shooter who occasionally makes some highlight plays at the rim when he is able to get out in open space.

He's at least OK at shooting though and can get hot. And he does offer those highlight plays that can be game changing. I see no reason to try and move on from him.

Patty Mills still seems like the most realistic game-changing type piece to me. Spurs suck and they got nice young guards. They have shown a flippancy towards 3pt shooting, so Exum might be way higher on their evaluation list compared to the average NBA team. That and the Tony Bradley draft day rumors.

I mean, I'm a Bradley supporter, but he in no way "deserves to play" over Ed Davis.

Is Quin serious though. Exum has played 82 minutes for the season and about 50 in non-garbage time. 0 as lead guard.
And the Quin 'conspiracy theorists' are suppose to believe that Exum has been given a 'fair go'.
It just doesn't jibe given the problems being had on the bench.

i think if Conley, ingles, DM, Mudiay and NWG were all out Exum would still not see the court under Quin. Buy him out.

He is a very good shooter. I saw some of the comments from others that tried to play down his shooting prowess. Him not being a good shooter is just flat out false.

Like you said, he's also the 10th man and how much can you expect from a 10th man? But we have to draw the line somewhere, with the players that played. I'm going to construct a sentence below, to describe yesterdays game, and performance.

The bench put the game at serious risk of losing it, by being outscored 52-12, to a Warriors bench of the actual Warriors bench, in our own building. I don't believe that this is the game where you can paint a positive picture out of the bench's performance, including Niang. I could give you other matches where you would have much more of a point, where he is actually worthy of praise. We cannot let this sort of performance-acceptance to enter our line of thinking.
