2011 draft.....

Could a player that commited to go back to school change his mind? They could right? With what the NBA is saying now with the lost sponsorships and so forth and their obvious concern about the long term effects of a lockout, I feel that there will not be a work stoppage that has the league missing games. As this info has only been comming out over the past few days, could a player like Perry Jones decide he needs to take his shot now?

Yes they could but they would receive a lot of backlash and criticism of character. I wouldn't expect stuff like this to happen, but it could.

I dunno about defensively.

I think jazz fans develop hatred for players and just stick with it without really watching them. Guys like Big Baby, Zach, and CP3 all seem to be on the list of top most hated players by the Jazz. Yet, we'd kill to have them on our team.

Big Zach is a big ox who is limited with his jumping ability. Having said that, the dude isn't lazy. How often did we see Al fail to box out? Or Millsap just stand there as his man scored? Zach and Gasol have dominated the Spurs inside. He helped lead a Grizz team playing without Gay into the playoffs. He's one of the best rebounders in the game and has a much more physically dominate low post game than any of our bigs. I like Zach.

I still maintain that the jury is still out on Al Jefferson being an effective player on a playoff team. So far in his career he's proven to put up decent numbers on crappy teams. I haven't seen him lead anything, show an ability to be an efficient scorer, and do all the "little things" to win.

Millsap has proven to me that he's undersized and needs to work at playing the 3.

Favors has shown potential, but we'll see what happens....

Fess is junk. And Evans is wayyyy too skinny.

Yes, our PG situation is questionable. Is Harris the answer? Or is he just a bandaid for the real solution via draft/trade/FA?

Yes, our wings (other than Hayward) suck. Yet, I'm not seeing any wings that will be available at 6 that will significantly help us in the short and long term.

Might as well try and continue to draft size and strength inside.

As the best NBA teams have shown, you can never have too much size. And as the Celtics are showing, they really miss size (despite stats. Green for Perkins was a no brainer. But considering the size and physicality that Perkins plays with... The Celtics are missing him badly while the Thunder could care less).

Randolph is lazy, he has gotten much better this year, but he is still lazy. He has a good match-up because none of the Spurs bigs are quick footed, face up 4's.

I like a lot of the recent posts here. At #6, I'd like Bimbo, and then at #12, don't settle. IMO though, we should target a 1 or 3 and if one's not there (Terrence Jones, Leonard?), try to move down, or perhaps even move up if the price isn't that hefty.

I assume you mean don't settle for Jimmer at #12, which I generally agree, but still would like to get Jimmer somehow on the team for a backup PG. Maybe Miles could fetch a 15-18th pick?

Jimmer won't be there at #12. With everyone staying in school we will have to trade up to take Jimmer. Jimmer is the best playing in the draft. We shouldn't take any risks on missing out on the best shooter.

**** is bad when we have to hear anyone talk about how great it would be to have Zach ****ing Randolph.

That would take a miracle, even in what could be the thinnest draft of all time.

They can until April 24th. Player must notify the NBA in writting by 60 days prior to the NBA draft (June 23) but I'm guessing they would get killed in the media. If I was an agent I would be begging the parents of Jones, Sullinger, Henson, Barnes to get thier name in. This class is so weak, and there has got to be uncertainty about what the CBA will do to rookie contracts....get locked in now for 4-6 million per year.

Am I the only one who thinks that the Jazz's biggest need in the draft is the wing position? They need a good shooter to compliment Hayward aka GTIME. Jordan Hamilton at 12? Texas was trying to run the Jazz's offense this past year. Would come in a little bit a head of the curve.

I am also one of the few people who think that Derrick Williams would have no problem at the 3 ala Atwan Jamison. If the Jazz got into the Top 3, he would be a good fit I think. Also see some Lamar Odom potential out of Terrence Jones.

I don't think Alec Burks would be a good fit if his biggest weakness if shooting.

Also kind of like what people say about Jan Vessely.
