2011 draft.....

Alec Burks = Courtney Lee ?

NO! I have watched almost all of Colorado's games this year because they were my favorite team and I love Alec Burks game. Burks does have a jumpshot, it could use some improvement, but all in all it is pretty good. Burks is a natural scorer, he can score from anywhere on the. Whether it is dunking, shooting the three ball, or even taking a 15-foot jumpshot he can do it all. My comparison for Burks is Vince Carter, they have the same build, both are very athletic, and their jumpshot/offensive games are very similar.

Alec Burks is the best shooting guard in this draft anyway and Burks averaged 20.5 PPG as a sophmore for Colorado this year so I am all in with taking Burks with the #6 pick or even higher if Irving or Williams weren't available.

Wow - quite an endorsement. Sepanol, the poster who has seen many of Kanter's games, raves about him too. It'd be nice to have the info you guys do. But thanks for your testimonies. It does force me to consider Burks a little more.

I think Hayward and Burks could be a good combo together. I see Hayward as are starting sg, but he can move over to sf from time to time to get him some extra minutes and Burks coming off the bench. I think they would cover up each others weaknesses.

Burks does appear to have a bit of a swagger. But then again, so does CJ.

Again, I haven't seen enough of Burks to form much of an opinion. He is confident and that's definitely a good thing. But at 6 I'd prefer Bismack because of the Jazz need for defense on the front line. At 12 they can draft Burks though. Except they won't - and we all know why. But maybe someone else grabs Fredette before they have the chance and then the Jazz can take Burks.

Thank you for the 100% unbiased opinion, Mrs. Burks......

Jonas appears to look exactly like Kosta Boom Bitches.

Another average sized center with very limited strength and athleticism. Missing dunks, playing below the rim, and looking good against guys 6 inches shoter.

Yipee...

Give me one of those athletic wings please.

To counter Locke's video of a really bad game. Here is what Valaciunas does well.

I just looked at the new articles on DX on Terrence Jones and Alec Burks. I want no part of Terrence Jones on the Jazz. Too small at PF and too laterally slow at the 3.

While I like Burks better he worries me that he won't fix his weaknesses. I do now understand what people mean when they say he's a "natural scorer." He definitely looks confident and effortless when it comes to scoring. I say this with some hesitation but he kind of reminds me of Wade in that regard. But don't accuse me of idealizing the guy - I'm still leaning toward passing on him. While he may be a "natural scorer" I fear he lacks the maturity to iron out the flaws in his game.

But maybe a pro-Burks fan can straighten me out and tell me where I'm wrong. This draft is so weak I'd really like to be wrong.

Donatas

I remember being really high on Donatas when I thought he might come out last year. When a player isn't new anymore you kind of forget about them, but I love the guy's countenance on the court. Always confident. Some have said cocky but I don't know that I'd go that far. He seems very sure of himself and always in control. He never seems rattled.

Defense is a weakness though. So I'm not saying a resounding YES. But I like his offensive game.

The fact that he's not terribly athletic or a physical specimen of any kind and doesn't appear to have a certain NBA position raise real questions, though, besides that one day my gut had a freak-out and told me that Williams might have a hard time in the NBA.

But I obviously can be very wrong there. Again, roll of the dice.
You're talking about Derrick Williams here? Until reading this statement I always thought you knew what you were talking about. This guy has slam dunk champion athleticism written all over him. How can you possibly call him "not terribly athletic?"
