2011 draft.....

That doesn't mean too much to the rest of us unless you tell us how many pages the thread currently is for you. ;-)

My bad, I'm on page 106.
I'm glad I could clear that up for you and everyone who's been on the edge of their keyboards waiting.

Kanter and Jimmer = Slothville/no D
Knight and Biyombo = Less offense/incomparable athletic advantage/incomparable defensive advantage

I'll take the latter.

I posted this in the pre-draft thread, but it may belong here instead?

I say we also take a look at Deandre Liggins (could possibly go undrafted). Best defender in the SEC, tenaciously nasty. 6-6" exteeeemely long.
He was drafted as a PG out of high school (5 star) and has the handles of a PG.
He's also a much better scorer than his numbers indicate. He was asked to be the lockdown defender ... much like Jimmer was asked to score .. but as he showed in the combine, he can shoot (was near the top on 3's).

I'd take a serious look at him if he goes undrafted.

His one good shooting drill category was untimed NCAA 3's, not exactly a ringing endorsement. He only got 11 shots up on the timed midrange and bricked most of them. This is the closest metric to a real game situation. I sense you were wearing your blue colored goggles when you state he will be a better jump shooter than Brewer. Ronnie was both a better 3 point and free throw shooter in college. And judging by those timed mid ranged, don't see him beating Brewer there either.

I said if he goes undrafted we should look at him. Also, Brewer was NOT a better 3pt shooter in college. Comparing their junior years, Liggins shot 6% better from behind the arc. I just think Liggins is worth a look, that's all.

I think Marshon Brooks could turn out to be like the Brandon Roy of this draft. I'm just wondering how good that is.

Yeah, I'm intrigued by Brooks. Is the knock on him that he's a senior and his team didn't win in spite of his nice stats? He's improved every year - that's a good thing isn't it?

This was the knock on Brandon Roy-- 4-year player, good/not great athlete, fluid scorer but can he do it at the next level, will he pass, etc.

Brooks did average more turnovers than assists though. DX compares him to Nick Young. darftnet compares him to Jordan Crawford/Josh Howard.

Limited range on his shot, but that's about the only knock as far as I'm concerned. VERY intriguing prospect. He got better every year, but the one thing that REALLY stands out (different from most other guys) is he always scores, but always scores BIG, BIG, BIG, against the best competition.

Some of these guys pad their stats against nobody teams in their OOC schedule and then crap the bed against the big teams ... not Marshon, he turns it up a notch.

That's true, but he handled the ball a TON and he had no go-to help. Gotta factor that in .. imo.
