What's new

2012 Election

I know he was against it but I don't see any thing he could do to change it.

1) You made your point badly
2) Obama will wil also be getting a lot of money under the new structure, even if he has (as most) mild opposition to it
3) Saying the court has 5 conservatives is still basically incorrect

Agreed. I don't think you have any room to debate if you don't at least put some effort into voting.

If you're going to take the stance that you're voting between two guys you don't want every 4 years, then wouldn't you want voter turnout to reflect that? You should be hoping for some extreme like 10% voter turnout if you want to send a real message. They are not going to change anything until people show them it's a sham choice.

Personally I strongly dislike thinking like that. In my opinion you should always vote.

Here's your choices.

This is stupid. If you don't like both candidates, you're going to vote for one of them just because? Idiocy. Do your homework and vote for the person you want. If they both suck, write someone in. If you don't want to do that, then don't vote. The real problems are people that go out and vote without doing their due-diligence, and those who go and punch the party choice. (the one that votes straight dem or rep) Just because you have the right to do something doesn't mean you should do it. Retards, the lot of you.

Since you clearly have a problem with everything here and don't seem to be willing to make an effort to fix it...maybe you should move to somewhere else.

Another reason to put you near the top of my "List of posters who started out strong, but then fell into mediocrity and morbid stupidity".

Washing your hands of it is not the answer. Start pushing for like minded people to take control of the politics in your school, city, county...

Disagree with your first sentence, strongly agree with your second. Again, voting for something you don't like simply because it's your right to vote is the epitome of worthless.

Fix it by voting for the ones who are keeping it broken? The only power I have is my ability to speak out against it, which I obviously do. I donate a respectable chunk of my income to charity every year (I try to at least keep up with the Mormons). If there was a candidate I actually felt ethically comfortable supporting, I would. I'm not sure what it is you think you're doing that keeps you feeling all patriotic and important.

Personally, I think the voting for President is a bit overrated. It's one guy folks.

Congress makes up the budgets and passes legislation. If you're really upset with how this country is run, blame those who are running it... Congress!

They're the ones passing legislation, taking in campaign contributions, determining the amount of regulation, decide the tax rates, declares war, etc.

If you feel like we're in unnecessary wars, are spending too much money, aren't taking the right steps to get the economy going, why blame one guy? Blame Congress. Blame those who you elected to represent you who obviously aren't doing so.

I vote for candidates who I believe are honest and very wise. I don't care much how they vote after elected. We put them there to make their best decisions and not to pander to the common stupidity of uneducated constituencies.

Congress makes up the budgets

One guy who decides on all the other guys who run things. A new justice department head alone would drastically change things

The President submits the budget every year.

As opposed to 5-4 liberals who will pus liberal ideas thru court. So how easy that was?
This is why Democrats and Republicans are obviously the same, and have the same unified agenda.
The big boys who are really in control absolutely love all the infighting, because most of us never actually identify the real enemy.
Politicians, Congress, the President.... they're all puppet faces to make it look like this former Republic is playing the Democracy game.
