2016-17 Hype Train Playoff Chase!!!

I'm totally drinking the Kool Aid right now. We look legit. Watching games, I get the feeling it is inevitable that we come back and take over.

Record is still weak against top teams (2-4 versus Sagarin top 16 teams), this needs to improve.

We are about tied for 5th with Toronto in both Sagarin and 538 rankings.

With out Hayward and then Hill... and Favors. And without Burks. We aren't even close to clicking yet.

Meh, I could live with those road losses even if we were at full strength. You don't often walk into a top teams house and punk them.

OP updated!!!

Weekend recap! Jazz crushed that road trip and if not for a late stumble in Charlotte the Jazz would have gone 5-0. Jazz have not gone 4-1 on a 5 game road trip since 11/26 - 12/2 in 2000. 16 years...

Also the Jazz have played the most road games in the NBA, tied for most games played at 11 and tied with the Pelicans for the most injured team in the NBA. Only 3 teams have more wins... Cavs, Spurs and Clippers.

7-4!!! Also the Jazz are favored in 14 of the next 17 games. Stay focused and the Jazz could be in a killer position at the end of December.

Ok, last night! It was a so-so night. Starting to see separation between the top 8 and the rest of the west. This might hold...some shuffling among the top 8 of course.

Lakers and Thunder lost! Along with the Suns and Nuggets.

Unfortunately the Blazers won. So did the Warriors and Wolves.

Tonight's games:

Grizzlies @ Jazz
Mavs @ Knicks
Thunder @ Pistons
Celtics @ Pelicans (I feel bad for AD)
Sixers @ Rockets (Hope Embiid posterizes Harden)
Heat @ Spurs (lol, one can hope)
Nets @ Clippers (they have to cool off sometime right?)

If the bolded teams win Jazz move into 3rd and only 1 1/2 games down on the Clips!!! Jazz would Pass the Spurs and Rockets fall to 8th.

Great update. It's great to see the young guys steadying the ship during the opposing teams runs. Im hopeful for the future.

DWill-Boozer-Okur never strung together a 4-1 road trip. Shameful. So unfocused.

I would love to watch this team play that one. The interior defense is as opposite as possible. Hayward/Ak matchup would be interesting. Dwill and Boozer would get their points but I think this current *fully healthy team is better and would win.

if this team isn't better than that one right now, then it sure as hell better be before they're done.

Last night was bitter. Rudy sucked, Hayward sucked, Favors played 21 minutes and got 6 points a 2 rebounds. 2! No Hill, Hood or Burks... Only Ingles, Lyles and Mack showed up to play and we almost took it. Injuries, health blah blah blah. Just bitter tasting.

Mavs and Thunder also lost. The Clippers, Rockets, Grizzlies, Pelicans and Spurs won. Grrr.

Tonight's games:

Hornets @ Wolves
Bulls @ Blazers
Nets @ Lakers

Looks like the primary realistic goal has to be the fourth seed. GSW and SAS are almost certainly better, and LAC look very solid too. I wasn't too certain of the Clippers before the season, but they look good.
