No, your biggest fear is we won’t make a trade, it has nothing to do with adding talent unless it’s through a trade. Your obsessed with trading. I have no doubt we can add someone through free agency

I want my team to be better so let's break it down. We draft in the 20's. We suck at free agency. We aren't a destination for bought out players. So what does that leave for improvement options? TRADES!


I don't know if the Wiz like Exum or not. Compared to Russell (who could be in for a big pay day) and Smith Jr. (a shoot 1st PG), they might like Exum. Maybe they think he fits next to Wall better than these PG options presented. We dont know. Thats why my whole trade idea said we only have a chance IF...

Taking Mahinmi, giving 2 1st rounders and getting them out of the luxury is pretty damn good regardless of if they love Exum. Think about it - Exum makes $5 million less than Mahinmi next year. And they have the option to keep Favors who actually fits them quite well.

You’re bloody hopeless. There is no way in hell the wiz are taking a package centering around Exum and two undesirable first round picks.

I want to improve the team I root for too, I mean do you think I want the jazz to toil in average-ville forever? No! But I’m not going to waste my time coming up with wild *** never going to happen dreams. You live in a god damn fantasy land. Someone needs to beat some reality into you.

Also, first rounders (even later ones) have value. (They are how we got Rubio and hill. Didnt even have to include anything else iirc).
I think favors has value as a player (I think he is quite good as a center) and as an expiring.

I think taking a horrible contract away from a team to help them rebuild has value (mahimi)

I think some people (not me) might see Exum as having value due to his young age, his length, his speed, and his potential.

But some team will come in with more valuable picks and players with better reps then Exum. Agree on favors.

I never said this trade is a done deal. I simply said IF Washington likes Exum, it might start a conversation.

I have said all along that I don't know if we have the assets to get Beal. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try. All I'm doing is speculating on what our front office could compile to start a conversation.

Very good breakdown.

The Wiz are a mess. They are an expensive mess. We can't underestimate how valuable it would be to get them out of the luxury this year and off Mahinmi's deal for next year when Wall's extension kicks in.

I think they can get better players, but I don't know if there is a team out there willing to absorb $40 million in contracts like we could be.

My biggest fear is not making a big trade. Because I have absolutely ZERO doubt the Jazz CANNOT add a major free agent. What can Utah offer? A small market, a city that is still not viewed favorably by most NBA players. A franchise "star" who regressed. A team that is more than a player away from contending. Who has Utah ever added of note? Boozer and Memo. And a handful of middle-tier players long past their primes (like Johnson).

But Lindsey is too afraid to act. And he's secure in knowing that if he just maintains the status quo, just keeps butts in the seats, he has a job for life. So he doesn't need to have any sense of urgency. He can always spout his nonsense about internal development (seriously, EVERY team has internal development from young players. And if not, coaches and GM's get FIRED).
