I agree with Cy. Staying pat’s the likely best move right now.
I’ll throw out the occasional trade but I think we have an A+ locker room and chemistry. Making a trade could screw that up. I’m not risk adverse but unless there’s something that’s a no-brainer, it just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me right now, with emphasis on right now, as we’re playing some really strong ball and are two weeks away from a really ****ing easy schedule. If we can go 4-2 in the next six, we have a legit shot at the 2 or 3 seed imo. Possibly even the 1 though that’s highly unlikely.

I’m only in the mood for a shooting four by using Favors (Niko, Gallo) or only move if it brings us a 20 ppg guy, though I don’t know who that is and probably won’t happen.
I’m also open to moving Exum in a deal that could net us a Patty Mills or George Hill kind of guy.
You think so? I dont know how they are going to do any better. They at least get a guy who has top 10 potential with this trade. They trade with the Lakes and they can't get a guy like that.

Don't ever give me a hard time about a trade again. This is dreadful.
We probably won't make another trade before the deadline, but we should. We are pretty close to contending but we need to either improve PF or PG.

Interesting trade idea, but I don't think it happens for a few reasons. Main one being the Celtics aren't going to move their All Star/All NBA caliber player to acquire another one, they're going to move their assets to pair the two together. AD has got NOLA over a barrel because he will ether ask for a trade, or he will reject NOLA's extension offer in the offseason and start the clock on how long he has left in NOLA before he walks in FA, and whether NOLA wants to cash him in for 50c to the dollar or let him go for nothing. The only way Boston trading Irving for Davis makes some sense is if they think the Lakers landing AD is imminent, and because they can't trade for two players on the DRose rookie extensions they decide to move Irving to get Davis in a last ditch effort, otherwise they're going to wait until the offseason and then come to the Pelicans with a Godfather offer while also trying to not give up Irving/Tatum in a deal (they'll probably start off with something like Hayward/Horford/Brown/Rozier/all the picks for Davis + Hill + filler and negotiate from there). If they need to they'll put in Tatum but not without Ainge fighting tooth and nail to keep him.
I also think the Knicks would rather just wait until the offseason and roll the dice on trying to lure in a FA instead of parting with Knox who they're super high on (as am I, I think the kid could be special) and taking on Hayward's contract, and NOLA would want picks in any AD deal if they're also taking on salary - even if it's expiring salary. They're not signing anyone anytime soon if AD leaves so cap space isn't a valuable asset for them.

Davis getting traded in the offseason also allows NOLA to move on from Jrue in the offseason, and I think the Jazz should absolutely take a hard look at getting him in over re-signing Rubio. His contract is pretty meaty but this is the time to get a guy like that while DM is still on his rookie deal, and Jrue would be so good for Mitchell. Only concern would be that Exum would likely be moved in that trade as a young guy they could take a flyer on, and assuming Rubio went elsewhere to get paid that leaves the back up guard situation quite dire.
The Pelicans by rule of the NBA cant have Irving and Davis at the same time.

No it's the Celtics who can't because they would have traded for both of them. CBA forbids teams from acquiring two players who got the DRose rookie extensions via trade, so the Pelicans could in theory trade for Irving and pair them together in NOLA since they re-signed Davis, but Boston can't trade for Davis until Kyrie's deal ends as they traded for Irving which forbids them from trading for Davis until Irving's deal is up.
