2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

I agree that we will play better and improve our record. But like I said earlier, I just don't see another magical franchise defining run happening this year like it did last year. Didn't we go something like 29-6? I don't see this team having that in them even if we played every single game at home. I know our team had a worse record at this point last year, but we also don't have some "Gobert coming back" boost to the lineup or "Donovan Mitchell emerging from nowhere" boost either.

We won 48 games last year. I just have a hard time believing we can get to that level this year. We have too many solid role players and lack another really good player.
I still believe Donovan gonna start wrecking ****. Not logical but I really believe it's gonna happen. Like soon. Like next game.

I know this is highly unlikely, but what would Charlotte have to give for us to take Batum's contract?

The Charlotte Hornets are "desperate" to move Nicolas Batum

Are Batum and Gobert close from their time on the French National Team? Think we can get two good years out of Batum who used to be a pretty good all around player? Could we get draft picks from Charlotte? Batum, a 1st, and Tony Parker?

I'm very luke warm on it, but figured it was worth discussing.

Being get-able isn't enough imo. That contract ****s the jazz.

If we can’t get anyone else of that caliber then I’m not sure how much of an issue his contract is. He’s perhaps sort of the best we can do.

For me, his biggest concerns would maybe be his age (turns 31 before next year) coupled with his injury history.

Cause if he’s healthy, hell, I don’t know.

Ugh. Nevermind, I just see athletic 4’s blowing by him time after time.

I swear Bleacher Report really wants us to have Love : https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndic...or-kevin-love-bradley-beal-nic-batum.amp.html

If we are going to shell out that much for Love, why wouldn't we just shell out the similar amount they have NOLA shelling out for Beal?

Couple of the other deals look okay...

Jebus that is awful for us. I wouldn't do it straight up for exprirings at this point. Dude ain't even playing right now.

Exactly my thoughts.

That contract extension was so incredibly idiotic. There is a chance Cleveland could have gotten a protected 1st for expiring Love. They better trade him for expirings while they can.

The OP for Barnes trade was also weird... why would Dallas do that deal?

Homeytennis starting a thread on Luther Head as we speak.
There’s a name I haven’t heard in a while.

No thanks. Does very little for the jazz and hinders their ability to improve. It’s just a dumb move.
