I would startIf Conley comes off the bench who is starting PG and SG
I think the Jazz decided to maintain the spacing their wings provide. Other than an OPJ-Conley trade (which wouldn't upset me, but which I can understand why the Jazz aren't excited about) which gettable wing would you have entrusted to maintain the spacing while improving the defense? I'm not sure that there were any that were anything other than a low-chance gamble.Maybe they are done because the guys we are interested in want more money they we have left. Or maybe they want to give some of the young guys a shot at making an impact or maybe you are right and the Jazz front office has no clue. What upsets me is that after the season ended all DL talked about was the need to get more athletic wings who could defend and not mess up spacing. So what happened?
We got bigger but not at the wings. So unless Brantley or Oni or Morgan make a huge leap we haven't really improved much. Favors helps in some ways but we still have the spacing problems we had before. I have a small hope that Hughes could be a surprise off the bench but he and Udoka are getting a raw deal having to jump right in NBA action after 9 months of not playing. No summer league and a shortened camp. So they may not contribute at all.
So we paid to get rid of Ed and someone is paying for him?
Our FO was playing checkers and the Knicks were playing chess.

Our 2nd unit should be good this season -- Conley/Clarkson/Ingles/Royce/Favors.
DonIf Conley comes off the bench who is starting PG and SG
Can you make an argument for why NWG should never come close to an NBA roster that does not involve summer league (since, you know, that was like 2% of the evidence we have of him as a professional)?I watched NWG up close and personal in summer league. The speed and size of that setting made him look inadequate. He’s not some 19 year old that needs seasoning... he’s seasoned. If he plays any meaningful rotation minutes ever I will be shocked.

It was your guy too! In fairness we were doing it for zero returning dollars. Also in fairness Minny never called us to tell us they were interested.Welp, that's it @Handlogten's Heros. I'm out.

Negative on both... can’t play Royce instead of Mike effing Conley... it’s Mike effing Conley.Don
Royce
Joe
Bojan
Rudy
This was the Jazz's best lineup last year and one of the (if not the) best lineups in the league. If it ain't starting, it damn well better be finishing.
It's a dark day when the Knicks organization makes yours look amateur.Wanted Spellman since draft. A big guy who defends and shoots threes. Imagine making the deal for him, him being a better fit than Favors (I know this is blasphemy to some), not having to unload assets and not having to pay Favors $30M. The FO has one goal in mind for the offseason and wouldn’t be deterred.
I think he’s immature or not committed... I thinks he’s out of the league unless he shows major improvement... kinda the vibe I get.Spellman makes Favors irrelevant.
