I think Tony has improved and played well enough that he gives us the ability to be patient. If something comes through the door at a reasonable price then great, but if not we can be patient and wait for buyouts etc. Its frustrating but he's putting up good numbers... similar to Zubac. I think he's likely given his trade value a small bump too... I can see a team talking themselves into the fact that he could be a good cheap young flier. Like a second round value type of flier.

TB is a serviceable backup right now. Could be more than that in the future. No reason to sell him for cheap. I bet DL is more concerned with finding a landing spot for Ed before deadline

The issue is the playoffs... I could see him being completely unplayable... so if he is part of the package that nets the backup center for the playoffs then we can move him.

Speaking of playoffs and Bradley; if we keep him or dont find anyone to take his potential playoff minutes, you have to just assign one assistant to do nothing the rest of the year but prep ole boy for 9-12 minutes of playoff basketball.

Some Rocky type, music montage, ****. Guard without fouling, set the best and most effective picks you can and offensive rebound. Just do that.

Not advocating for him to be the guy AT ALL, but if he is, lets put that in his ear now and prep like hell for it.

Let's just trade for Vonleh already. Here's my consistent concern that I mentioned at the beginning of the month:

But I think we're being lulled into passivity here. We've had an easy stretch and there will come a point where we'll want to sell low again. Rolling into the playoffs with Bradley and Niang as your backup frontcourt is a problem. We'll look back on this and think "well they were playing well and we were winning so the decision to stick with it made sense at the time." At the very minimum we need an Udoh.

After those 30 seconds of Bradley in the Rudy foul-trouble game, then the Rudy fouling out, people started to see the problem. We're now entering back into the blinders stretch, but we'll be back. Hopefully it won't be too late by then.

Let's just trade for Vonleh already. Here's my consistent concern that I mentioned at the beginning of the month:



After those 30 seconds of Bradley in the Rudy foul-trouble game, then the Rudy fouling out, people started to see the problem. We're now entering back into the blinders stretch, but we'll be back. Hopefully it won't be too late by then.

I know... I do think I’ve seen real improvement with him. I thought Sabonis would take his soul... he was only on the court a little while with him and more than held his own.

We don’t have the assets to just make something happen... I think Tony is playing well enough now that he isn’t costing us anything. If there is something available at the right price I think we are still buyers...

I’m not convinced Baynes is a huge upgrade worth pushing all in on. He hasn’t shot the ball well and hasn’t been healthy. I’m not seeing any guy that should be available at this point... Vonleh is fine but I’m not sure he’s a big upgrade...

Nah, guys like Sabonis and Zubac and Dwight are perfectly fine matches for him because he weighs more and those guys won't bullying him around as much. But the problem isn't Sabonis or Zubac or Dwight. If these teams were throwing the ball in to the big man as their strategy, Bradley is fine. But we're going to get eaten alive in the pick and roll, at the rim, and on switches. Yes, Bradley has unique things about him. I think people get so black and white about this that they think you are saying that Bradley doesn't have any redeeming qualities (not you, just responding to the larger argument that's beginning to surface). I'm fine with Baynes, but I'm saying we need a guy who protect... and those guys are all cheap and available, so I'd say that getting someone isn't about being willing to do it if it's there, because a number of these options are currently "there." My biggest concern is seeing some flashes from Bradley that gives us the false confidence rolling into the playoffs, and we're going to have to bust out Ed. Which may not be bad, tbh.

I feel ya… I did watch parts of the 4th quarter of the Nuggets Pacers the night before and I swear Sabonis just murdered them down the stretch... moved Jokic like he was nothing and got like 5 offensive rebounds in the 4th quarter. The play where TB came over and got the block was the best defensive play I've seen from him. His pick and roll defense last night was solid too.. they made midrange shots, but that's what our offense does.

I guess what I'm saying is I am not sure TB costs us a lot of games now... and I'm not sure a playoff replacement better than TB and Ed is available at a price we can pay. I'd love to get a guy like Wood, but I doubt our front office is looking at those types and likely wants a more proven player.

I think they are also realizing that TB+Niang is a problem... they split the minutes differently last night to avoid this issue a bit. I think we should be looking for 4/5 upgrades but I don't thin we are desperate.

I guess where I am is I'm not convinced that just anyone would be better overall than TB... I think it has to be someone that is clearly better... we have Ed as a safety net and I have a hard time believing he will be worse than he was early this year... maybe he will be.

I'd still be making calls, but I'm not going overboard with an offer (not that we have the assets to go overboard).
