What's new

2020 NBA trade deadline discussion

If Brantley can hit one 3pt shot, grab 3 or 4 rebounds, and play some defense in 8-10 mins/night, he's worth putting on the floor.

He's not Zion, but he can be Paul Millsap.
He has a very solid body and plenty of energy, which is something we could use. Guys are bouncing of him when he plays through contact. I guess the problem for now is learning his role on defense.

Why? because we beat OKC in a series before the NBA world knew how damaging his **** was... We beat a Clips team that ended up folding and didn't have Blake (we didn't have Rudy either), but that Jazz team was very good and complemented each other quite well.

Houston and GS deep dicked us... those were the "contenders"... I think Quin is good and will help us, but Carlisle, Stotts, vogel, Doc are no dummies either.

We in trouble.

Yes, last year we "figured out" how to play against Houston in the series. But we were already down two games at the time..

We had a difficult time scoring against their switching defense because we didnt have athletic players who could score one on one. Korver and Ingles basically got taken out of the series.

They got really ****** seconds too... out seconds are better than some they got.

We have glaring needs and kept our hands in our pockets... just like the players last night... we deserve to lose.

Scared money don’t make none.

It sounds like the Jazz had some deals on the table and had to answer themselves: "is it a hell yes or no.."

If Conley doesn’t opt out, is there any way we have enough money to sign two solid free agents? Like Baynes AND Wood?

**** you and the horse you rode in on :)… they should have asked themselves what is 100% of nothing... cuz that's what we getting from Niang and Bradley.

I don't think there were hell yes deals out there, but they are in a different environment... sports and business are different. It's why so many business gurus are arrogant coming into sports ownership then get they *** handed to them. Business is not a zero sum game...

So it can be a maybe this will work... lets cross our fingers... sometimes in business that is a better answer, but when you are established, busy, and don't need deals you get more selective... like the Bucks... they don't have an obvious upgrade spot in the rotation... we have two.

We'd go into the tax unless we moved Ed and Tony. Wood may not get more than the MLE, but I doubt we'd invest that much in him... He's not "proven" enough. Baynes should get more than the BAE. We could give him one year at MLE... I'd be really worried... he's never healthy and he isn't a three point shooter like people think he is.

Give me your solution if it’s one guy and give it to me if it’s two.

I trust you. Sort of.

Wait, so we figured it out but got smoked anyway? Was it because we didn't have good enough players? Cuz we will be at a significant talent disadvantage to both LA teams and Denver... maybe even Houston again.

I do not think we are contenders... would love to give the front office truth serum and see if they believe it. We have like 5 development projects at the end of the roster that Quin won't use... two guys in the rotation that likely aren't rotation players for any other west playoff team. We need help.

BING -F********- O

Does "any team" include Lakers or Nuggets? Our very low weren't "low" at all because we've been beating those sucky teams just fine. It is the good teams capable of exploiting our weakness on lack of athleticism, rebounding and perimeter D that is causes us all the problems. We are the very definition of high floor low ceiling type team that is killing all the poor teams in regular season and will likely head for an early round exit comes playoffs

Cant believe hes getting paid to tell these BS lol
