I've always thought cultural diffusion was a norm throughout human history. The movement against "cultural appropriation" had always seemed out of whack to me, for that reason. I recall a few years ago, some university, I think it was on the West coast, but might have been Canada, eliminated yoga classes because people complained it was appropriation. JMO, but that seemed pretty foolish.

If you want to pretend that Hillary being a woman had nothing to do with the election in 2016, well you would be pretending. Was it the basis of every last bit of opposition to her? No, of course not. But you slap a penis on her and she wins the election.

I would argue the complete opposite. The only reason why she even had a chance is because she is a woman.

She lost because she has zero charisma, isnt funny, isnt charming, isnt nice. She sounds evil. There is nothing likable about her. It wouldn't have mattered if you slapped a penis on her. She wouldn't have won.

I bet I could find dozens videos of people actually saying out loud she should win just because she is a woman, and its time, blah, blah, blah. Dont pretend you didnt hear it too. SMH

Here's a direct quote from someone I worked with during the 2016 election campaign:

"We tried a black guy as President and we saw how that turned out. Now they want to elect a Woman?!?"

So it WAS a factor for some people. It's that simple. I already said it wasn't the only factor, but it did play a role and it hurt her.

Just like I've said you don't have to be a racist to be a Trump supporter, but if you are a racist Trump is definitely going to be the most appealing candidate. This isn't an all or nothing deal. I don't accuse individuals of racism just for supporting Trump. I don't accuse individuals of being against Hillary because they are sexist. But I do acknowledge the extremely obvious fact that those issues exist. Trump DOES attract racists and makes them feel more welcome than any other politician in my lifetime ever has. Many people, consciously or not, have an aversion to women in leadership positions. It's a real thing whether you like it or not.

I agree with everything you said. Its to what degree is the actual truth.

I feel like from my own personal experience and anecdotal evidence there arent that many of these outright racists. Its very few. Probably more sexists than racists though, but that has a lot to do with woman and men not understanding each other and having relationship problems.

Either way. I dont think the sexists or the racists are dictating who gets elected. I think reasonable people out number the crazy people.

I voted for Trump, and Id vote for a woman, a black man, another celebrity, whatever. Im not voting for another fake politician type again.

Im here to fight against this idiotic notion that Trump voters are all a bunch of stupid racist sexists. Its a cop out to what actually happened. The Democrats and Republicans put out trash and lost. Its pretty simple. The guy who was neither won.
