2020 Presidential election

Political Jazz Fan is right.

Poverty is inversely related to economic freedom and capitalism.

Unpopular, but 100% true.

Not to say we should not improve our system.

Notably, major income inequality is a huge issue.

The problem is how to fix it

If the Government gets directly involved, they will eff it up.

Lol. This is 100% to help Trump. Don't play dumb. This is done to split the dem vote into x # of ways and won't effect Trump voters in the least.

Some hard truths about the Kanye thing:

1. Tweeting and giving an interview doesn't make you a force to be reckoned with
2. He has no political action committee
3. He has no platform
4. He has no staff
5. He hasn't filed anything with the FEC
6. He has no fundraising
7. He's missed significant ballot deadlines

Do I really need to go on? There's a reason campaigns take years to prepare.

It's also a bit insulting to black and young voters that they're simply going to vote for Kanye because he's black and a music artist.

I'm hurt. You invaded my safe space and hurt my feelings. You of all people should know better than to hurt my feelings or not believe anything I say.
Why should "I of all people" know better?

The fun with jokes is that there can be lots of ways to take it, and laugh.

I did not mean to insinuate that you are an expert on this subject, or mean to preach some **** to you. I was laughing at the idea, considering some of our past pissing matches.

I was laughing at you for believing I don't have empties.

I want you to know the historical fact of my ancestry being in the business of running pubs in England, and making wines. Further, my father, during the depression, furnished his college with chemistry labware by scavenging empties along Boulder Highway during Hoover Dam construction days. Glass work is an art useful to chemists. With a Bunsen burner or a professional setup and the right tools, you can make a lot of stuff outta empties.

China is so great and I'm sure their data is 100% accurate too...

Here... I did a Google search for you.
Again, China has many issues. But that doesn't mean everything they do is terrible, they have done good things. That data is from the World Bank. That's a USA company that technically Trump is in charge of... So are you calling Trump a liar?

That article you quoted used the same World Bank numbers that I just used. In fact their big turn around number is the one I used, they just left out that it's because of China not anything else during that time period. Their other big number is from the industrial revolution.

So you have nothing to back it up. Googled and did 0 research just tried to find anything to back yourself up. That's called confirmation bias. The numbers in the article you quoted actually back me up, so you failed, again.

I think that economic freedom has it's advantages but modern history disagrees with what you have stated. Poverty is increasing in many capitalistic countries. No country has ever turned around poverty like China has in such a short period. We just choose to ignore that.

Also that's not unpopular what you're saying, that's very popular in every capitalism country. Income inequality is what causes poverty in many places. Like I said USA is increasing in poverty. In the 80s it was very low at around 1% now it's around 4%. That's common around the world in more free economies. Free economies improve GDP but that doesn't mean less poverty always.

It's very hard to get people out of poverty without assistance. Countries that do that usually get a lot of help not just a few economy.

Income inequality is a problem, no doubt

And economic freedom is most definitely a poverty killer.

I wouldn't say that income inequality causes poverty, more likely that there are other factors that cause both income inequality and poverty. They are two sides of the same coin.

Not saying we can't and shouldn't do better, we should.

But I'll never be in the "capitalism is the root of all evil" camp.

Thanks for the discussion.

I think we'd need to carefully define those terms, first. For example, are areas where there is no functioning national government under economic freedom? Does poverty refer to overall wealth, or the percentage of people impoverished?

Another lost day for Trump to change the narrative game as SC basically punted his tax decisions back to lower courts. As you would imagine, he's tweeting about how unfair everything is to him.

Tick-tock.

what a witch hunt. Kavanaugh and Gorsuch are never trump liberals who form a sort of the deep state. This is like just so so so unfair!
