I've always thought cultural diffusion was a norm throughout human history. The movement against "cultural appropriation" had always seemed out of whack to me, for that reason. I recall a few years ago, some university, I think it was on the West coast, but might have been Canada, eliminated yoga classes because people complained it was appropriation. JMO, but that seemed pretty foolish.

I don't think that level of opposition to cultural appropriation is even close to mainstream amongst democratic voters. Like that probably represents the <1% fringe.
