What's new

2020 Presidential election

And what would happen if four candidates (Biden, Bloomberg, Buttigieg and Klobuchar) weren't dividing the more moderate/centrist vote? Their polls combine to over 44%, not including Warren, while Bernie is polling at 32%. If Bernie really picks up a good chunk of that moderate support, then okay, he's the nominee. Obviously, that's the question that will determine the nomination.
That's not how it works. There are polls for 2nd choice dude. This isn't hard

Trump was negotiating at a standoff with China, and agricultural exports were one of the points of negotiation. The farm subsidies were to compensate.

Socialism is nationalizing the energy and transportation industries, along with education and healthcare per Bernie's Green New Deal. That's not going to fly with Democrats, let alone Republicans.
It flies tho. He is literally the most popular senator and is winning the Dem primary and polls ahead of Trump...

It's definitely possible. Trump is awful, but I think he's achieved an almost boogeyman like status where it's hard for people to imagine that it's possible for someone to be worse. But if you take a couple minutes to look into Bloomberg's past actions, in both his personal life wrt sexual assault allegations, and his political life with his authoritarian surveillance state and racist policing, the differences between the two start to be hard to see.
I stumbled across this....

For the first time Democrats show a little backbone against the most Capitalist loving but Socialist for everyone else "The Rat" Bernie Sanders.

Good job.

I do wonder how people like Warren will fair once Trump shows her that he's already done what she promises to do for the working class.

This whole electability thing is BS anyway. What does it even mean. Someone with vested interests is telling you who is electable and who's not when you can just make up your own mind. People will rally to bernie as he keeps winning delegates as Trump did. His whole campaign is quite trumpian actually, just the (not evil) flip side of the coin.

This browser didn't think electability is a real word so I looked it up to make sure I was spelling it right. That search rendered this result for what it's worth: https://www.google.ca/search?client=opera&q=electability&sourceid=opera&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

Could you consciously vote for someone just like Trump but let’s say he/she has one less flaw than Trump? I don’t think anyone expects perfection.

Yes Trump is eons worse than any other candidate but you couldn’t possibly get me and I believe many others to get behind someone like Biden or Bloomberg for instance.
That choice doesn't currently exist. I understand what you're saying, but the choices we have, as they stand now, are all FAR better than Trump.

I loved the debate tonight. Loved it. I think Bloomberg is cooked. Nothing would make me happier for this election than if Biden and Bloomberg dropped out.

I could easily vote for any of the other candidates.

Warren was slipping on my board but tonight she reminded me why I liked her in the first place. She ripped Bloomberg's balls off and made him eat them. I loved every second of it.

Buttigieg is a likeable guy who is smart, reasonable and a veteran. I'm a sucker for a veteran Presidential candidate. I'll vote either party for a military vet who carries themselves with that dignity and sense of duty to country.

I'd love it if Klobuchar could surge a little in the polls. I think she's a great choice and someone I think would gain tons of traction in the general.

I'm not really onboard voting for a Democratic Socialist. I'm just not. I'd do it because Trump is the other choice, but I'd easily vote for a moderate Republican who was a decent human being over Sanders any day. I don't think he'd be horrible, I honestly just think he will be the least effective of the bunch, and that includes Biden and Bloomberg. He'll get nothing passed because he's too much of a socialist ideologue. Despite what Trump cuckolds want you to believe, none of the other Democrats are socialists.

I would be very happy with Bernie as my president.

Yeah, I'd take Bernie over Trump every time. I won't be upset if Bernie wins, he's just not one of my top 3, but I would prefer him over Biden or Bloomberg. I'd just be much more happy with Buttigieg, Klobuchar or Warren.

@Gameface has no such PM.
lol, give me a second.

Okay, the PM is from @Nate505 on Apr. 28th 2018. The title of the PM is "Hey, can you not troll Cy" If nate is okay with it I'll post his post, my response and his follow-up response.

The pic I posted, well, not in this thread but in one of them, is the one Nate was asking me stop posting. Since I'm not sure where it is I'll post it here for reference purposes. I made this pic in Apr. 2018.

Evidently this got under Cy's skin.

For all the years I've been here I've had very little direct interaction with Cy, but when it has happened it has been negative.

Vote blue no matter who!

I 1000% hope Bloomberg is not the nominee, I was clearly predicting he wouldn't be.

But if he is... You bet your ****ing *** I'll vote for him instead of Trump. You bet your *** I'd be pissed if Sanders or Gabbard went third party (unless they actually won, but they wouldn't).

Bloomberg is my worst case scenario choice, but he's still my choice over Trump. All day every day.

What might tomorrow bring? I hope something better. I'm logging off for the night...

My theme song as of late...

I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier
I'm gonna live like tomorrow doesn't exist
Like it doesn't exist
I'm gonna fly like a bird through the night, feel my tears as they dry
I'm gonna swing from the chandelier, from the chandelier
And I'm holding on for dear life, won't look down won't open my eyes
Keep my glass full until morning light, 'cause I'm just holding on for tonight
Help me, I'm holding on for dear life, won't look down won't open my eyes
Keep my glass full until morning light, 'cause I'm just holding on for tonight
On for tonight

Too much this

And way way too much this...

Sun is up, I'm a mess
Gotta get out now, gotta run from this
Here comes the shame, here comes the shame

You want copies of my paystubs?

You're so ****ing stupid!

Like I said years ago...

"This economy is so good I'm going to be able to get that second job I always wanted."

That's not a good economy for most people. This is a dream economy for the Bloomberg's of the world. Are you basically a Bloomberg, or do you work for a living? Because if you work for a living this economy is kind of a bunch of hot air.

I think the Dems have a pretty big problem.

When you look at this election from the perspective of "Trump sucks, we need to get rid of him" with his unfavorability rating and all the passionate hatred for him you'd think this election would be a slam dunk for Democrats.

But the Democratic camp is divided. There's a growing number of Democratic voters who are embracing the very progressive liberal candidates and supporting their policies. Then there's the established Democratic elite core that doesn't want to alienate middle-of-the-road voters with a bunch of radical ideas that the Republicans will be able to effectively label as "socialism."

If those two sides can't figure out a way to attack this election together there is a damn good chance Trump will get re-elected. I'm just not sure there is a way to reconcile both sides. The dems might just have to go all-in with the ultra-liberal agenda and hope it energizes enough voters to get it done. But I'm not sure there are enough of those voters out there. If you go the more moderate route and pull more moves like the DNC did against Sanders you might cause a huge chunk of your most enthusiastic Trump haters to feel disenfranchised from the party and they may just stay home.

It's a real problem.

And like I mentioned, if somehow a Republican challenger beat Trump in the primaries I'm pretty sure based on who I'm looking at right now that they would get my vote. I know babe doesn't believe me when I tell him I'm not a liberal Democrat with an agenda to match, but I'm not and I have zero loyalty to Dems other than getting rid of Trump.

Well, let me provide the exception. I will not vote for a candidate that runs specifically as a representative of any religion. That has been a huge turn-off for me in regard to Republicans lately.
Well here we are, this post is from Dec. 31st.

It's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see how it plays out...

I just read the first 12 pages of this thread.

Damn I'm smart!

Plus I read the origin story of my falling out with Franklin... Damn I'm smart.

PS. I miss Siromar. Like a lot.

PPS. Damn franklin got dumb. Like super dumb. You doin' meth up there bro? You doin' meth and binging brietbart and hosting hillbilly BBQs waving Confederate flags around and talking about the problem with negros? I didn't change, you changed, and you changed for the worst.

Sure, if you don't mind
I'd like to see your 401k
Your stocks
6+ out of 10, myself included say their life's are better off. Thats historic according to Gallup.

But you know what ever happened to that "were in a recession" thread, the anti-Trump crowd was so sure about? He'll some of you even were hoping for it.

If you have to will, there's ample opportunity out there. Staying up drinking all morning isn't going to get you far. Sorry to be an *** but from one former addict to another that's on you and your choices. Now if Warren gets her way imagine the 35+% that you'll be paying in taxes. Even more if "The Capitalist Rat" Bernie gets elected. The very same two who have openly admitted their plans will lose jobs...

An economist at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, told Kaiser Health News earlier this year that that could result in about 2 million jobs lost,” mostly within the healthcare industry, said NHPR reporter Casey McDermott.

“So I agree,” Warren replied. “I think this is part of the cost issue and should be part of a cost plan."

_----------::-----::

“Will there be job loss? Yes, there will be,” Sanders said in response to an audience question during a health care-themed town hall in Dover, N.H.

But Sanders suggested job re-training
