free market capitalism created the moon launch, the interstate highway system, the internet, and other trivial things. All with no government help.
The wealth necessary to create all the things you mention, was generated by capitalism (individuals engaging in voluntary free exchange), and subsequently seized by the government (taxes).
I'm not suggesting government can't build things, provide services, or redistribute wealth. A level of government is necessary, and can assist in allowing long-term capitalism to thrive (legal system, roads, environmental laws, etc.). However, everything it accomplishes can only happen through taking from productive members of society. Hence, government does not create wealth.
The stimulus money being distributed is not from the government, it's from taxpayers. The only way to pay for this are to increase our tax rates in the very near future, print money (a tax on savings), or increase the national debt (a tax on our children and grandchildren).
