Oni would've easily gotten more PT if he didn't completely suck balls. Miye Oni averaged 10min a game for us when on any other teams, i doubt he'd even make it to their 15-men roster. Lot of time I felt Quin played him not because he was playing well, but because we had no other options who could fill that role.I'd be happy enough with Thor. I really wouldn't expect him to get PT, though, for a year or two.
Grimes possibly, but as you say, that would likely just be an Oni replacement at first, not any kind of difference maker.
I'm not into Brown or Boston, and either would almost assuredly be a far longer-term project than Thor.
Garuba? Sure I'd take him. Won't be there at 30 though.
If that happens to be the case, they might as well just keep DL.Our 1 true need is length and athleticism on the perimeter. So the jazz will probably pick McBride.
Nah you can play multiple point guards at the same time. The Doke pick was bad because he can’t share the floor with Rudy… even if it turns out he’s good.Dont want McBride simply because resigning Conley would easily turn it into another Doke situation. He would then become our third string PG that rarely get any PT, when we could've drafted an athletic wing or small ball 4/5 that gets PT right away.
How Joe’s name keep coming up… If they move him then just go ahead and trade me too.![]()
2021 NBA mock draft: More shifting in the first round
With the clock ticking down, an ever-changing first round undergoes additional movement.www.espn.com
Jonathan Givony mentions in his latest mock draft that the Jazz are dangling vets for picks (mentions Ingles) due to luxury tax concerns.
He has us taking Jaden Springer with Thor, Dosunmu and McBride all still on the board, FWIW.

Bleacher report mentions we are trying to get off salary. Mention Bojan and Joe. If we get something back for them then great but if you are clearing salary to just sign Mike then maybe just work a sign and trade and take less salary in or let Mike walk. Sounds like we are trying to firmly solidify ourselves as just a playoff team and not a real contender. The reporting on what we are doing is such a mixed bag between those saying we are trying to run it back to those saying we are dangling vets for picks that I wonder if even we know what we are doing.
Wondering if the “run it back” message is a PR move to make us not look too desperate to get off Ingles, Bogey, or Favs. There’s too much smoke out there that we are dangling dudes for it not to be true.
Methinks Ryan has decided he doesn’t want to sign a big luxury tax check.
I mean, he is long and athletic...Our 1 true need is length and athleticism on the perimeter. So the jazz will probably pick McBride.
Springer's been seen throughout this whole process as the higher rated prospect compared to those others.![]()

No, I just think he's overrated as a "ready now" player. The hype around him reminds me of the hype around Jordan Bell. Not that I'm directly comparing them. To me Herb Jones is a project disguised as a 4 year player because of how far he is going to need to come to be playable on offense.@Saint Cy of JFC : Is your aversion to Jones:
a) you bet on Bama once and he choked, losing you money (I keep seeing you comment on him choking)
b) just an anti-Bama thing
c) something real in your evaluation of Jones?
I get that he may never see the floor if he can't find some way to put the ball in the basket, but everything else about him (from my distant view) seems like someone the Jazz should be very interested in.
