2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Clowney went 3/4 from 3 in one half, which makes in undisputable that he will shoot it well in the NBA.

On the Locked on Jazz the guest mentioned that prospects dont get insurance while playing in the NIT which is why so many players sit out the NIT. Cam Whitmore is sitting out.

He is a hard worker and that is a good thing, but some times skill development doesn't come down to hard work. Also, this is a little bit unfair but when there is some epic story about work ethic it triggers the same part of my brain as when I hear a story about some "generous" donation or whatever. It's not a bad thing, but there's a reason why you're hearing about it and there are so many others putting in the work that you will never hear about.

It wasn’t really a story… it was more a comment on a pod type of thing… basically just that he goes to work on game days with his training… and it might explain why he can fade a little in the second half… but just think about it… he doesn’t really care as much how the g league team is doing and more that he’s improving… I think basing the evaluation too much on production in his case might be a mistake. He’s likely not looking at game day the same way some would.

And lol that it’s leaked for a reason… you can just look at his body and tell he works. I doubt he’s trying to convince anyone he’s a worker because he doesn’t need to.
The shooting is a concern for me. There is no player with the shooting numbers that he has that wouldn't be a concern for me. He can still be an amazing player with an iffy shot, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't expect more. He's dropping to the same tier as Miller for me, which is not a bad thing at all. His shooting is a millions more promising than Amen, however.
The shooting is the swing skill… but that’s where he goes from all star ceiling to like all nba first team type of stuff. I’d bet on it for us for sure… if a team with an established all star pg lands #2 then they should consider Miller. The fit is enticing with him… I’ll admit that.

The thing is he's a terrible finisher in the G-League. The G-League's major weakness is rim protection. If he cant finish in the G_League that is kind of concerning.

There are concerns... I'm likely not gonna worry a ton about how great his G League stuff is... its a 19 year old against grown professionals. And I think the gameday approach is different than college or NBA. I simply think unless you have extreme fit concerns you take Scoot over Brandon.

How did miller do today? (I saw alabama played)

What does that mean?

He was 0-for-5, didn't score. Had 3 fouls and 3 turnovers, grabbed a few rebounds, but in terms of points it was jack diddley denada, bupkus. He was the All American 0-fer today. Hate to see a top-5 prospect get shut out by a team from Corpus Christi, but hey.

His team still nearly scored like 100 points though.
