2024 NBA Offseason

I wasn't sure where to post this, but the WNBA all star game featured team USA vs non team USA. I didn't watch the game, but understand it was great. I like this idea for future NBA all star games to play team USA vs the world.

The WNBA has been a fun follow this summer league. With a lot of people tuning in for the first time (like myself) there's going to be a ton of crazy/hot takes but that comes with the territory. It feels like there is a lot on the line every day which is something that has somewhat been lost in the NBA. The all star game was great. Highly competitive.....in general it feels like the regular season is 10x more competitive than the NBA regular season.

All we got to do is get NBA players to be incredibly jealous of each other's success.

It's definitely an interesting story line....especially in that All Star game. I don't care what gets NBA players to start competing harder (in all games), but it would be a welcome sight. Some of these WNBA games feel like life or death for them. They are playing the biggest games of their lives every week.

I think there are just too many games in the NBA. They are usually playing hard at the start of the season, but by mid January it's just a grind.

I tend to agree....I also think that all of the conversation around NBA is so centered around "the big picture". It's hard to get excited about a random regular season game because we are constantly being reminded that it doesn't matter much....because big picture wise it doesn't. Everything is downplayed because what really matters is the playoffs and champion. These WNBA games, especially the games with Clark, have much different energy. I guess I would compare it to when Enes Kanter returned to Utah for the first time. The team/fans just really wanted to win that night and there was no consideration to how it fits into LeBron's legacy or whatever. She's such a big star....everyone knows it. It's a massive moment for everyone that plays against her.

But getting back to your point about introducing this into the NBA....I would love that. I think the NBA should promote USA basketball and international basketball as a whole. I think it would be awesome to see USA basketball play against the NBA All Stars and other international squads. Maybe a world team. Maybe then someone like Jaylen Brown can have his chance to prove that he was snubbed.

I've been an Okoro apologist, but he's disappointed time and time again. I'd still be open to acquiring him and especially so if it sends Clarkson out. Awesome defender but sucks at everything else.

I know PHX has already been reported as not interested in Kessler.....but a Nurk+Nassir for Kessler trade would save them a **** ton of money and make them better. It would at least make them think about parting with that 31 pick.

If they don't want to go the money saving route, three teamer with WAS. They get Tyus and Kessler, Wiz get a couple seconds for their part, we take on all the bad salary and take PHX 31 first.

Actually a USA vs World would be a great way to change the rising stars game.

Maybe keep the rookies and sophomores also but make the rising stars marqee match up the USA vs the World. I would tune in for that.

Luka putting in some serious work at the table this offseason. I guess losing in the finals didn't exactly light a fire under this dude.
