Can you tank with Lauri, Collins, Kessler, Nurk, Flip and Collier, all playing real minutes?
Who is your point guard? If it is Collier or Carter, yes tanking will be pretty easy. Flip is fun, but he is also a defensive liability currently. We would have very little depth that can play at NBA average.

It will be a few months before Hendricks can play heavy minutes and Bailey likely gets Sexton's minutes and Carter gets Clarkson's minutes, both of whom will be way worse as rookies. I actually like Collins and if we have the option of keeping him after next year, I wouldn't mind it.

The mistake Ainge made was not exactly the CBA, it's that he didn't value defense at all at a time when the league started viewing high-level defense as a prerequisite for a guy getting >10m.

We finished last in defense back to back years so teams think every defender on our team sucks other than Kessler.

Ace and Hendricks have the tools to be high level defenders, but the other prospects on the team... Do not either...

Just a complete disregard for defense the entire time.

Yah... we won't be as bad as last year, but IMO it's still feasible. Especially if we play both rookies a ton of minutes. For as promising as Collier and Flip looked last year, they still were losing players, too... Also, keep in mind the competition. Who in the west are we supposed to be better than with Flip, Collier and the rookies playing major minutes?

Front court gets crowded pretty quick with Lauri/Walker/Collins/Flip/Nurk... if we are giving away money and value to clear logjams... why not clear that up a bit so Taylor and Ace get a few more minutes?

We’re getting kind of deep. If 1-2 of our young players has a decent jump we’ll be in serious danger of losing our pick.

Gotta move one of Collins/Kessler/Lauri... just have to.

Perhaps I’m reading into this too much…but maybe we’re working on a Lauri deal? If Lauri is gone, maybe you keep Collins as a cheaper long term option. Same logic for a potential Kessler trade I guess. Idk, seems like any move I can think of would have already happened.

It’s obvious that we wanted to clear out a logjam in the backcourt so our young guys could play. But we just have a big log jam in the front court now. You can have some oversized lineups to get guys minutes….but it really feels like we’re undercutting Ace/Flip/Hendricks now.

I think we'll be ok if we end up having to wait and moving one + of them at the deadline. I thought the point of moving on from Sexton was so that we don't feel like we have to play him minutes. I don't think we have to play Nurkic any amount of guaranteed minutes.
