Hirable offense for his son.
If I was Ryan and I was trusting someone to make the right call and ended up with that outcome… let’s just say Ryan has been exceedingly patient with Danny ever since he traded Donovan.
I didn’t think it could be possible that Austin was actually above his dad but it now looks to be actually true.
In my scenario it’s known the Jazz want to keep Lauri and Kessler. In that scenario, carrying those 3 into the season, with this draft looming, the clear path to a solid tank….it would be stupid to keep Collins.
And I like Collins. But keeping him is likely at the detriment of a high lottery pick in a great draft, not just what you do or don’t get for him in direct compensation for the trade.

I see no path to the Jazz being anywhere close to playoff contenders for a very long time. This is beyond frustrating. You can't have a nepotism front office stacking up bad decisions AND be the least desirable destination in the league. I went to the very first Utah Jazz game in hx (loss to the Bucks, btw), pretty much listened or watched every single game through 2023. It is just super hard to root for a half *** organization anymore. This tanking stuff is just bad religion. RIP JS AND LHM.
I am way more cautious of our tanking chances this year. Yes, the west is still an incredibly tough conference. And we also lost Sexton. But a lot of things went our way last season to help the tank. I think Lauri will better, the young guys will be better, and we won’t do as much egregious tanking. We’re cutting it too close for comfort with losing the pick.
I don’t want to be in a situation where we have to do that shameless tanking again. Let John play for a team that is actually trying to win.

We had different priorities at the end of the season. At some point you have to develop players. Look at what happened to Houston and Detroit when they started putting NBA players around their youngsters. The way the west is stacked, we can play actual basketball and still get a great pick. We should do that.
Also, I don't think this applies to you, but if someone posting here didn't show up in any game threads in February, I really don't care to hear any of their arguments about tanking.

HOU and DET is a bad reference point unless you think their development only happened once they got vets. HOU and DET are two teams are winning with vets and with young players who began their development without them. The other team who built through the draft successfully is OKC who also purged their roster of vets and let the young guys play.
We can agree to disagree on what’s best for development, but the Jazz have the same priorities as last year. It’s even more important to tank with higher risk of losing the pick.
