2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

Yeah, the NBA hates Sexton for some reason and he has very little value unfortunately. They think his offense doesn't make up for his terrible defense in playoff matchups so a late first is probably what we can get. The Jazz would probably take back Cole Anthony or KCP.
Sexton won't be bringing back any kind of FRP.

I stole this idea from RealGM:

To Miami: Sexton, Collins, #43, #53
To Jazz: Rozier, Robinson, #20

Robinson is on an expiring/partial guarantee for next season and Rozier will also be an expiring. I realize Ainge drafted Rozier but personally wouldn't let him set foot in the building while he's under federal investigation.

Great idea tbh. Could probably trade Robinson for value as well

Is the Rozier thing really still ongoing? I'd let him play off the bench. He has been playing for Miami. I don't think you can sit him because of a gambling suspicion.

Based on Tony's tweet yesterday... I do believe all of Sexton, Collins, and Clarkson will be gone. Sounds like Collins has maybe some decent value.

I also think either Washington, Utah, or Phoenix will do a Dame trade with Milwaukee. It seems like Giannis is staying in Mil.

If Giannis stays, they have to do a Dame trade. Not just for next season, but also for cap space aspirations in Summer 26. The plan for MIL should be to open as much cap space as possible for that summer. Max player (or multiple very good FA's) + Giannis signing extension would be the end goal and they probably can't get one without the other.

I don't think there exists a team with better one year contract players than Utah. Am I missing anyone? Sexton + Collins is pretty good to just make it into the east playoffs. Maybe Portland with Ayton + Simons? Crap I really love that move for POR.

I agree... we can smooth out the gap year and also give them the hope of FA if things don't quite work. Portland seems like they want to compete. The Phoenix deal with Beal might provide assets and maybe Giannis believes Beal has more left in the tank than he has showed. Wizards have Smart/Middleton (no reacquiring though) but also have Kispert on a medium deal that could benefit long term. Smart Kispert Bey gets them in the ballpark. Still allows for some cap space I believe.

We can also help with a Boston deal if they want to go that route. It makes too much sense to not happen which means it will never happen.

IIRC, there's really only two teams with cap space. DET and BKN.
Detroit only has space if they waive the capholds for Hardaway and Beasley I believe. I think its really Brooklyn. Collins won't opt out... he'd be looking at MLE if he did... that would be there next year and he would have banked another 26-27M.

Only way he opts out is if he has an extension agreement in place with us.
