Could they theoretically provide us cash considerations of some degree and we buy him out? Then he might agree because he can still then go pick his next team, and allows us to have money on the books without returning production to help the tank next season. And then we're mostly just eating his player option next year.

We cook our cap space for two summers but we get everything the Suns have left. I actually kinda love this.

Outside of #10, what do they even have that’s worth something? All of their picks or swaps are not all that valuable. I’d rather do a Lillard deal for some unprotected pick swaps than take on that albatross.

IIRC, the limit for cash considerations is about $7.5M. You also have to be under second apron in order to send cash, but I Imagine PHX would want to get under it in this type of deal. So still paying Beal $100M+ to not play, but opportunity cost is no cap space this year (we likely would not have any anyways) and cap space next summer.

I think they should strategically lose that trade tbh. Holding on too long demanding a “Godfather” offer will just blow up. Make it easy for someone to want to deal.

They have the picks we sent them for their 31. MIL doesn't have much to offer either. PHX best offer would probably be #10, swap in 32, and then two FRP that would be the least favorable of a bunch of swaps. Still a lot more than MIL could offer, and I doubt MIL is putting 31 unprotected on the table in the first place.
 
My read is that Phoenix is going to try and trade Beal for two weeks, and when that fails they’ll probably just trade Green by adding a third team to the KD deal

the most you can give in cash is like 3 million (not sure, but it isnt near enough to cover a Beal buyout)
 
Why would Beal accept any trade at this point? Also, that No-Trade clause should worry the heck out of any team that acquires him. If you want to flip him at the deadline in two years, he has to sign off on it. I’d talk to them, but it’s gotta be pricy to pull that trigger. I’m getting #10 outright plus any other draft assets that they can give. Still think a move for Dame is better value long-term.

Only reason is because the situation is so toxic he doesnt mind leaving.

He would accept a trade if the buyout/waive is already agreed upon. Would set him up to go wherever he wants and still get paid.
