star wars sucks.
they crapped it with the prequel trilogy, and probably will crap it with the new trilogy.
by the time this trilogy is done only 33% of the star wars movie colleciton will be good.


sometimes people should leave a franchise alone instead of money grabbing prequel trilogy and a new money grabbing sequel trilogy.

The first one sucked, the second one was slightly better and the third was solid. Certainly nothing special but still solid. But your comments on the last trilogy are way off.

These last three could be very, very good. I'm not a huge Abrams fan but he makes solid popcorn flicks. I expect Episode 7 to be the fourth best one in the series and possibly better than Jedithough I doubt it. After that, we see Rian Johnson take over. Johnson did Looper which was ****ing great so I am very amped for that installment and if the script is strong (and dark like I expect with Johnson on board), it could end up being great.

I love Star Wars. Wife has no interest, don't think my parents ever watched it. It's a fun movie series. Can't wait for the new one.

Episodes 1-3 were bad, but not nearly as bad as Indiana Jones 4. That one raped my childhood.

I love fantasy and fiction. Star Wars is just about the most boringly conventional, and utterly commercial, set of movies out there. You can't go any simpler with the "hero's journey" than that. And to add that large chunks of the movies are there only to sell toys to children... I just don't get it.

Star Trek, while campy as ****, appeals for its spirit of science and discovery. It is great introductory sci-fi.

But whatever, to each his own I suppose.

Funny because Star Wars is to big budget blockbusters what the Beatles were to popular music. Star Wars had its influences, but it changed popular culture.
It changed the level of special effects. To creat all those characters Vader, Yoda, Chewbacca, Bobba Fett, etc.

You just arent seeing the full picture here.

What Star Wars has become is gross. The pre-quels, the "special" edition original are bad.

I don't even consider them Star Wars, but sadly they are. If you are talking about them I understand. You must re-think how you
at least look at the originals. Yes, the story was earth shattering, but the characters, the creativity, the special effects are.

We hope, and pray these new movies are a return to the spirit of the OT.
