What's new

Alec has taken over as our alpha dog.

lol @ franklin arguing (page 7, was it?) that Burks can't create his own shot.

That was awesome.

Do you have any video of Alec bringing the ball down the court and initiating the offense in a play designed for him to create his own shot? You don't. I don't think you do.

(IB4 someone acts like 2 end of quarter clear outs aren't an exception to normal offense)

Pretty much. I'm still not convinced the Jazz don't read my suggestions re Burks and implement them. Everything I've said he needs to work on he has worked on instead of other stuff. Then I make another "next step" suggestion, and BAM! he shows up with that tool in need of another suggestion.

He is one dimensional doe

Keep beating that drum, frank. I really do get a kick out of it.

If Hayward was putting up the kind of numbers Burks is right now, in the same minutes, the average poster would be talking about max money. For whatever reason people think what he's doing is a fluke.

Dude is probably one of the best in the league at getting to the rim and either scoring or drawing fouls/getting to the line. I don't think he's going to be a star but I believe he is AS important as Hayward if not likely more.

I agree. I see something special with Burks.

Could you have sunk any further back into your chair?

Anyway, we're about two games away from the "Alec Burks has Jason Kidd-like court vision" threads after he makes one semi-decent pass. He might get his first block of the season as well, then the Gary Payton stat comps will get thrown down.

I actually think frank is right on the tripe threat. If Alec could shoot 35 percent on 3s from the triple threat it would really open up driving space for him.

You're certainly not a good troll, but you're not necessarily a bad one either, because you do get some responses. But this effort was particularly bad - comical in it's own franklin way, but bad.

Glad to see our Alpha is coming up short in a winnable game (actually not sarcasm, I want to lose).

Hopefully Burks made a mental note not to challenge an NBA 7 footer one on one anymore. Alec, there is a reason they pay these guys millions of dollars.

Alec's problem is that he tries to do the same move on someone too many times. It will work on scrubs, but not good centers.

Burks euro-stepped Lopez in the 1st quarter, then tried the same move again and got absolutely swatted. I would like to see him drive w/ the mindset of creating instead of scoring at times, just to change it up and keep the defense honest.

Also, as Zach Lowe noticed, Burks goes away from the pick way too much.

Its kinda Alec's thing to go away from the pick... The other night it worked liked a psudeuo crossover!!

I know it's thing, but it drives me nuts. I actually can't even envision him driving on the side of the screen, as I'm so used to see him dribbling away from it.
