Been a Cubs fan since I started watching baseball. What can I say I am loyal to a fault. That and I can't bring myself to support a team from Denver or LA

This...saw my first Cubs game at Wrigley in '87 and I was hooked.

I'm a GIANTS fan, myself...

That makes two of us. And I didn't just jump on the bandwagon. I go all the way back to the days of "Stretch" McCovey, Jack Clark, The Count of Montefusco, through Will "The Thrill", Matt Williams, Robbie Thompson, etc. I'm actually glad the Giants didn't win a title with Bonds. He was a jerk.

Both my parents are from the Bay Area, so SF sports has been ingrained in me. But I was never a huge fan of BB either.

My great aunt worked for the Giants club for decades. Got a custom jersey with our family name when she retired & we have pics of nothing but our name on on the scoreboard (only a half dozen of us adults in the states so no impostors!).

WTS, piss on Giants morning fire truck style.

The NL West ain't no kumbaya campfire.

Where does your abiding love of the Rockies come from, franklin?

This will be a fun year in the NL West. I still remember the '93 season when the Giants won 103 games and MISSED the playoffs (Braves won 104 with no wildcard teams back then). I could easily see the Giants and Dodgers wiinning 100+. Or I could see the Giants win 80. I'm worried about Lincecum; he hasn't looked good in spring training. Last year he should have been dropped from the starting rotation after the first couple of months. If Lincecum continues to get lit up and If Zito regresses, then the Giants will have two guys who should be long relievers instead of 5th starters.

Don't count the Rox in that arms race until they get some pitching.

I started watching the Rockies in between Jazz games back in 2007 on FSN -- helluva year to pick them up. Had our first child that summer who had a terrible stomach and did not sleep. No lie, he slept for maybe six hours a night and took a couple 20 minute naps max. The late night game replays saved my sanity rocking screamo for hours on end.

-----------

Sadly, I enjoy the games more than the Jazz anymore. I'm a genuine homer fan with no real understanding of the sport outside the club, and intend on keeping it that way. There's no championship anxiety or analyzing b.s., just watching to enjoy the product. I even like their announcing crew a lot, even though hardcore fans hate 'em.

Wish I could do the same with the Jazz without getting so damn caught up in this championship despair we all seem to share.

Strangely (because 2 years ago it was the opposite), I worry much more about Timmy than Barry. I had pretty much written Zito off (like every Giants fan) but he was basically solid last year. I'm hoping being a married man has kinda stabilized him. Lincecum tho... dropping from Ace to reliever so quickly, I wonder how much his confidence suffered, and consequently his pitching. Maybe that new hairdo will settle him down.

Yeah, COL could use a lot of help in the pitching dept., but the have some nice players to build on. Tulo is a beast. I like that guy. Rutledge, Fowler, EY... there is some nice talent on that roster.

I have MLB Extra Innings (and actually, it's my wife that orders it - she is a more rabid Giants fan than I am...) and whenever the G's play anyone in the NL West, for some reason we always get the opponent's TV feed. And while I'd obviously prefer the Giants' crew, I actually like the Rockies' announcers. The Dodger guys are pretty good too. The D-Bag's announcers, however, are a completely different story. It's like they know nothing about baseball at all.
