What's new

Are there any Kanter apologists left? What are they saying?

Watched Kanter against the Bulls as I wanted to see him against a legitimate opponent. Looked pretty useless. Little Aaron Brooks scored on him a couple times in the paint. Westbrook had to point a couple times where he should go on offense. I could see him soon getting less minutes than he did in Utah.

So for those hating on Snyder for substituting out for Kanter on defense at the end of games...guess what? OKC did the SAME thing! And he wasn't brought back in on offense.
I will give him kudos for the offensive board and score to make it 103-99.

Well to be fair Bulls did take out Noah as well to put in Gasol. It is not like they replaced another center in place of Kanter. They put Jones in so that Ibaka didn't have to gaurd Mirotic.

Exactly. Coaches make substitutions. But Kanter apologists were never willing to allow that with Snyder. He was HORRIBLE for taking Kanter out and not letting him finish. So by the same token, you have to criticize Brooks. And go back and look at the games Snyder did that...many times he would then put Kanter back in for offense if the clock was stopped. Brooks didn't do that.

The more I watch Kanter the more I think eventually he will sign elsewhere. He is destined to follow in the footsteps of Al and join like a Bucks or a Pistons after Monroe leaves.

He still sucks on defense. I can't tell if his passing had improved, since I saw all of one play where he had the ball.

Gasol often abused him in teh post too.

We agree on that. OKC never saw him as a long-term solution. He's there to replace the injured Adams and provide depth. They have this year and next to win with Durant. Phoenix and New Orleans were biting at their heels and they couldn't afford to be without another big. Without Kanter they may have even missed the playoffs (well, they didn't know Westbrook would go on a tear). I'll bet they're hoping Kanter WON'T get a huge offer and he'll return for the QO.
