At Least the JVs Won

Based on their GLeague numbers yes. But remember Niang was a late 2nd round pick, was a GLeague all star, washed out with the Pacers and Warriors before coming to the Jazz. NBA and GLeague competitions are different animals. One of the most dominant GLeague players I have ever seen was a guy named Kaniel Dickens who was a 2nd round pick of the Jazz under Sloan and he couldn't get it to translate. Also think of the GLeague numbers Kevin Murphy, Mo Almond and Pierre Jackson put up and also couldn't get it to translate over.

All extremely valid points. What are your thoughts on these guys getting called up and seeing playing time this season?

True, but a lot of the G-league players are a) not bonafide NBA athletes, or b) have a serious deficiency in their game that holds them back. I think JWF and Brantley can hang physically in the NBA. Brantley is probably going to be a 3/4, like Jae Crowder, but he needs to improve his 3-pt shooting before he can be trusted in the rotation. His ability to handle, drive in the paint and pass are a real plus. JWF needs to add a bit of strength, improve his defense, and improve his ability to make reads. Right now, JWF is playing as a scoring guard off the bench, but he might be able to play that role at the next level.

Georges Niang isn't really an NBA-caliber athlete. He's on the team mainly because he can make corner 3s and handle and pass well enough not to screw up our ball movement too much. He's a stop-gap basically.

BTW, I think JWF has some real upside. I think he has a ceiling like Jet Terry as a backup combo guard. He can score at 3 levels and finish in different ways at the rim with either hand.

The fact he can shoot from all three phases, finish with both hands and play well off the bench, Id absolutely love to see him have a career that mirrors the Jet.

Brantley has showed some decent ball handling and passing skills. I could see him morfing into a 2-3 player. He knocked down some 3s last night.

I know this won't happen but I would be interested to see the Stars and Jazz scrimmage. I think the Stars could hold their own. Kyle Collinsworth has 32 games of NBA experience. Then you have the guys that have played both places in JWF, NWG, Oni, Brantley, and Morgan. Also I think Travion Bluett is solid. Pryor, Howard, Haas and Paul White would not embarrass themselves.

Probably a better idea than beating up teams from China and Australia and Greenland.

Of the Aussie team we played it sounds like Eric Griffin put on a show. Shawn Long is a big that played at La Tech and Melo Trimble (Maryland) plays for them as well.
"Long's final stat-line was 34 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks while Griffin had 34 points, nine rebounds, three steals and two blocks. "

One thing I noticed about the Stars was their number of steals. Spida leads the Jazz with 1.3 a game. The Stars have seven players with at least that number or more.
