Let me help you. There is this place that you have never seen before. Its called rational land. Where people who arent emotional and crazy. You dont have to have TDS or being a Trump Lover. There is a place in between there.

In the media world, there is no middle ground, and the media folks think they get to define all of us.

TDS, as you term it, is a kind of PtSD that afflicts political idealists whose whole world appears to have blown up somehow.... just because one disrupter sits in the White House for maybe just 4 years, but certainly no more than 8.

As a feeble step forward after the shock, their counselors are suggesting a more positive attitude called "woke".

I am suggesting a better way forward called "nap". One day on the rocks with the buzzards circling and no newspaper, TV, or talking points to republish.

You are not far from actually understanding why. A highway patrolman had almost the same insight, after pulling me almost unhurt from a wreck, a rollover in the desert doing 120 or something like that in a little pickup. My dog, who was sitting beside me.... a Chow Chow.... was first thrown to the windshield, where his collar hooked on the rear view, then banged the broken mirror into my hand gripping the steering wheel while I screamed, and then was ejected through the rear window in front of the head-over-heels rolling truck, where he landed exactly ten inches from where the taillights smashed into the clay...... I never saw my dog again. He was done with riding with me.

(And, parenthetically.... this is the reason you should choose to wear a seat belt. In a crash, you are in a rapidly decelerating can weighing thousands of pounds. You will not decelerate quite so rapidly. You will go out one window or another, somehow.... or out a door that isn't there..... and your can will crush you. Even in the mud. I saw an accident like that on the Salt Flats, and the driver's head was about as flat a his hubcap.)

But the trooper, coping with riding some 150 miles with me into town to have my hand bandaged, explained that it was amazing I did not go into shock, like most people would after an accident like that. He said people who talk a lot, and like to listen to themselves, rarely go into shock. It's a sort of mental stabilizer bar, if you will.

And that's the only bar I patronize, and few suffer much from me, besides the cows and JazzFanz.

I could discuss, at some length, the types of Trump-lovers out there. Some have been paid for it, and are long gone. Quite a few have loved Trump because he is not Hillary, or because he isn't on board with leveling the United States of America with the Third World, economically, socially, constitutionally, or militarily. A few of these are losing hope.

But most of the changlings were phonies to begin with. Republican progressives with committments to the ideals of globalism and the rule of opportunistic fascists with moolah to pass out. For them it's time to fish or cut bait.

I think she was referring to the matrilineal rule for defining Jewishness. Not entirely sure I don't have a Jewish child.

Pretty sure we part ways on the meaning of "fair".

People have in themselves opportunities, and need no supplements. Sure we have some moments of choice where we cross the chasm from being hunter/gatherers with bare hands to believing we have to crush human skulls with our stones, but however awkward our transitions, we always do have the choices, unless guvmint officials pass some damn law and drag us in chains over to cliff and throw us and our choices over the cliff.,

And let's not quibble about how enlightened guvmint officials are, OK.

Amongst family and friends I’m still considered the black sheep conservative. Yet here on Jazzfanz I don’t think there’s a single self-applied conservative I agree with on much of anything. Then there’s the Trump supporters, all of whom read as radically reactionary, rather than calm, considered and conservative. So for this forum, and based on your means of categorization, I may as well be a liberal. Moreover, since I will likely end up supporting Elizabeth Warren for president, it’s a good time for a revaluation of all my political values, probably something I should be doing every now and then anyway, if only to keep my view of the world from becoming too rigid and stale.

I especially appreciate talk like this.

I am sure this is not an uncommon reason, or line of reasoning, for thinking folks who choke at braying halfwits.

Oh, very. But, Philistine or philistine?

To be a true Philistine, you need to be very very old by now. Some might call them Palestinians today.

But I suspect that over the centuries, the lines of distinction have been outbred, genetically speaking. Kinda frustrating for me, a wannabe Jew, when I look in vain for compelling genetic criteria that would convince the Israeli government to take me in.

The Palestinians, formerly Bedouins, who rarely could have been acceptable to the Jewish farmers who remained in the land after the Romans did their genocide, and who chose to survive the insults of Allah by figuring it was the God of Abraham anyway, it is still quite likely that most Bedouins today have more Jewish ancestry than I do, so perhaps if the Palestinians could just pretend to love the Star of David, the blue on white flag, there would be peace again.

Well, my former Palestinian boss had a few quirks..... and I think it's cultural, really. The thing about Sodomy. The idea of male mutilation and all, I suppose, figures in that. If you still have a foreskin, you don't really need so much else. But originally, I think the idea of circumcision was something like Harambe's reference above about "The Natural Man" Circumcision was one way to try to not be so "natural", I suppose.

But honestly, my considered contemplations of the bovines has enlightened me about all that. Young bulls.... cowboys have a term for it..... "Balling around". Doesn't make them gay. The heifers prove to be more interesting. Well, more fun. Just an opinion here.....
