What's new

Best shows on TV?

We're saving this for when my sister comes into town since in the early 90s the three of us were pretty avid KITH fans. My wife is really really looking forward to watching this.
I mean, it IS KITH, so you can watch it over and over and over. :)

It really is a good mix of bringing back the old stuff for another go around, brand new stuff that feels like it was written 30 years ago, and stuff that couldn't have even existed back then.

Anyone watch We Own This City?

Same people who did The Wire. About the corrupt gun trace task force in Baltimore and the culprits involved. Really really good. Bernthal (who is phenomenal in everything I’ve ever seen him and still say should’ve played the younger Deniro in The Irishman, eff the awful technology) is amazing in it. So freakin good.

I need to finish Severance but as solid as it was, didn’t feel like continuing to watch it. It felt too similar to other shows I’ve seen. Maniac to name one.

I started The Staircase but had seen the doc about the case and was a little underwhelmed by the former. Firth is a great actor but he didn’t ham up the role enough (if you’ve seen the doc, the accused is quite the character) and actually felt a little flat to me. Most of the characters did which was part of the problem.

I’m all caught up on Barry which never disappoints. Such a uniquely original show. Everything about it feels fresh which I need after watching thousands upon thousands of movies and shows.

Hadn't heard of "We Own This City" but looks like it deserves a go.

I really enjoyed the performances and cinematography in Severance. The mystery has kept my attention through the first season but I have a bad feeling it's going to be a pretty big let down at some point.

The shot of the outside of the building was done ten minutes away from me in NJ at the old Bell Labs/AT&T building…it’s still there. Not sure what’s inside now. Might have been turned into condos….I know an ex coworker who retired is a barista at the coffee place there.

Anyone try the first season of Night Sky on prime? We liked it a lot. Hoping for a great 2nd season fairly soon, although with the streaming services you never know.

Just started the 4th season of stranger things, definitely grittier and darker than the others in lots of ways. Still aggravating to watch in lots of ways. They seem to get dumber, yet better, season by season. It's weird.

Lastly, just started the 3rd season of the Boys on prime. Damn that is some crazy crazy ****, and likely one of the best things on TV right now. Completely compelling.

new season of The Boys, Shoresy, Stranger Things all came out recently. Whoever hasn't caught on or watched The Ozarks and/or Better Call Saul are missing some good ones.

I just started episode one of the boys a few minutes ago. Only watched the first 5-10 minutes or so. It was insane. Even by The Boys standards. The dude who can shrink went inside that other dudes junk and then had a coke sneeze and exploded him. WTF lol
