BREAKING NEWS - Jazz close to signing Toure Murry

2 yrs 2 mil isn't much, but it's more than we've been spending on a third pg the last few years.
Is it?
Diante Garrett $798K
John Lucas III $1.6M
Jamaal Tinsley $1.2M, $1.3M
Earl Watson $2M, $2.3M

You just don't get salaries much lower. A minimum contract for a rookie could be 2 years, $1.3M. If you take a second year guy it's 2 years, $1.7M. There just aren't a lot of options that come in lower than this (rumored) deal for Murry unless you go very young and stick to the minimum.

Isn't the rookie minimum around $507K? So yes, $1M is bargain basement.
Not even sure why Utah is doing this. Why not just go the Garrett route and sign a D-Leaguer if the need ever arises? In-game, the 3rd PG would likely be inactive, so if Trey or Dante went down, Clark or Burks would serve as the emergency PG.

As I see these names and look at their 3pt %s I can't help but think about the idea I have seen some mention (such as PKM) about a Favors/Gobert frontcourt working if they are surrounded by shooters. With an excellent (or so it seems) passing PG in Exum and all these shooters in Hood, Novak, Hayward and now possibly Murry it makes me think that Snyder has similar thoughts. Not to mention a coach brought on to be a shooting coach. Could this spell trouble for Kanter?
