Pop is probably trying to develop Lyles. Demarre is at the end of his career and has no upside. But he could be good off the bench for us. We need a guy who will work his tail off on defense like Demarre. He surely could help our perimeter defense.

The questions we need to be asking ourselves on anyone we look at is, Will this guy being more value this year than NWG? I could name a lot of guys where the answer is yes.

Pop would rather play Trey Lyles than Demarre Carroll.

Think about that and then tell me why we want Carroll.
Carroll can fill the role Jeff Green was supposed to + defense. Also, he’d be another wing-sized guy who can shoot 3’s, switch on defense and has playoff experience. Jazz don’t need him to start. . . just to be better than Niang. I think that’s possible.

Pop is trying to win basketball games. The Spurs have sucked on defense and it's why they've struggled all year. Lyles and Rudy Gay at the 4 have both been sieves on defense and it's the main cause of their woes. If Carroll was the defender people claimed he would be on the floor for the Spurs. Trust me. He's washed.

The problem we have here is that we remember what Carroll was in his last stint here and think he's still that.

For the pie in the sky enthusiasts, Bizmack Biyombo's name has appeared in the press as a potential buyout candidate. Don't know if he'd consider us over the Rockets (or anybody else) but he's at least the kind of player (rim protection, rebounding, interior defense) I think we could use for a playoff run.

I've been on board for this one for a while. I'd suspect the FO isn't, though, and probably look at him with the same dumb assessment that a lot of NBA fans look at Gobert "dude can't score lolololol"

I mean, maybe Biyombo gets bought out and the Rockets have to waive Chandler. I hope we'd at least do that. Probably not.

He has Ed Davis hands... I'd be worried a bit. Would be worth a shot because of the rim protection.

We'll be less worried about Ed Davis hands than we will be Tony Bradley reaction time and lateral movement.
More worried that he’s not physical enough and when he tries he fouls... IDK if it’s a learned thing or something you can get better at but he doesn’t seem to know how to use his body without fouling.
