OkOnly interesting if you care about irrelevant games. Neither of those team will be a factor nationally by the end of the year. Who cares who wins now?

Michigan made a mistake scheduling a P5 opponent first. With a new coach they should have just taken it easy to start. They would destroy Utah if they played them again most likely. Utah got lucky they got them early.
The date of the Utah/Michigan game was determined long before Harbaugh was hired as the HC, so how they made a "mistake" scheduling a P5 school week 1 with a new staff is a misguided opinion (not surprising). I'd love to play Michigan again right now. Ruddock is still a ****ty QB and they're a team that relies on running the ball and paying stout D. That's a formula Utah has done quite well against the entire Whittingham era.

LSU is going to be #1 in the country.
All trolling aside, do you believe this? Fournette is the real deal, no doubt, but their effort against Syracuse was not all that impressive.
At this point, I think they are just as deserving (if not more) of a #1 ranking than Ohio St., But then, so is everyone else in the top 10.
He wants anybody but Ole Miss to come out of the SEC. He went on an "Ole Piss" rant last year. It's why I keep referring to Miss St. as Piss st.
Yeah, but I want to know if he truly believes it, or if it's a pure troll.
It seems to me like this has been one of the stranger starts to college football, and opens the door for a lot of discussion concerning poll positioning. I don't put a lot of credence in the polls right now - there's a lot of football to be played, and things will change as the season progresses - but I am interested in different perspectives on who's strong and who is not.
LSU has the most dominant single player in college and the most dominant style (running game, not only Fournette, but solid backup RB's and a good running QB).
They have a great offensive line and a pretty good defense, not quite elite, but very good.
I also think Brandon Harris is a good QB, Miles just doesn't have the confidence in him yet and I think they are trying to build him up slowly (biggest reason their games have been so close, they are playing super safe). I think that will be the biggest progression for their team.
Sure Utah is a more balanced and more well rounded team at this point, but they don't have the high end upside IMO because I don't see any part of their team being as dominant as LSU's running game. Only way to really beat LSU is to get a big early lead and force them into passing situations, very hard to do given how long they eat possession by pounding the ball and wearing out a defense.
Interesting. You make some good points. A lot of it will hinge on whether you're right about Miles. Fournette looks to be in a league of his own, but if he's LSU's only pony, I could see it getting more and more difficult as the season progresses. I'll probably pay closer attention to LSU now.
As far as whether or not Utah could give them a game... personally, I don't give much thought to it. At this point, they aren't going to be playing each other, and it's too early (for me, anyway) to make a competent analysis. I liked what I saw from Utah against OU, but I'm the cautiously optimistic type. Right now I'm going to devote all my Ute related fretting to Cal.
