FYI, I am sure I am overreacting but its hard to watch. It makes it even harder when it is frustrating the other players and especially our one star player.

Yeah, even thought THT does some dumb ****, you don't see the visible frustration you see when Sexton does stuff. Sexton also loves clapping hard for the ball. You can just tell Sexton is constantly out of position with how his teammates react to him.

I really wanted it to work for Sexton. I loved his attitude, but he just can't adjust the way he plays. The problem is, now everyone knows it the chance of a trade is very slim. We really need to be done with the Sexton experience, I just don't see how we do it.

This is correct. The time to trade him was last season, when he actually had a not-horrible stretch of team basketball.

His market would have been small, but it only takes one dumb GM to pull the trigger. There was just enough "mystery" about Collin then. Now all the mystery is gone.

I kinda feel bad for Sexton (if it's possible to feel bad for someone who will have made over $54 million playing losing, meh level NBA basketball after this season).

From what I've read, he seems like a good guy off the court, always supporting his teammates and saying the right things in interviews, but when he picks up a basketball... he just can't help himself. It's Jekyll and Hyde. Sexton seems totally incapable of changing his game. Some guys look off their open teammates, but Collin simply doesn't see them. He has the worst case of "blinders on" I've ever seen in a pro player.

I feel like some times you have to force a player into a role for a little while to change habits. Even though it was a small sample size I felt like last year when he was plugged in as the starting pg he made it a priority to facilitate more and did a pretty good job at it. When coming off the bench his role has usually been instant offense and being aggressive which he can do really well at times but it also creates some serious tunnel vision. Either way he is still a much better player than what he has shown this season and I would expect him to snap out of it in the future.

Ya I think you either gotta play him for real or not at all. giving him token minutes and minutes with scrubs in blowouts will only make him worse imo.

He's exactly the same as he was last year for the most part. He's the same he has been his entire career.

He's an efficient scoring machine. Per 36 he's the same as he has been his entire career. Giving him those token minutes actually helps a lot.

The best thing you can do is give him 20 minutes and hope someone falls in love with his scoring numbers and can talk themselves into Sexton just being on a bad team. If you start playing him "for real" (which I'm assuming you mean like closer to starterish minutes) then teams will have an easier time seeing him as the problem. Find someone who will give us an expiring and maybe some 2nd rounders. Use the cap-space to just sign a solid vet backup in the off-season.

Just take a second to think of how insane it is the 8th overall pick who averaged 17, 20, and 24 on efficiency only got paid 16 million per year.....

That should give you a clue as to what the rest of the NBA thinks about his game outside of scoring.

Yeah, I was trying to find the clip of Lauri today in the second half. He was calling for the ball and I think even clapped before giving up on the play, which made me laugh. Him clapping for the ball or after his one "hustle play" on defense each game, that probably should have been a foul is very annoying along with those tough eyes he gives.

THT makes some dumb moves but he gets some good assists and generally is playing within the flow of the offense. He just has some dumb turnovers and some dumb shots on his drives. Part of that is that he just doesnt have the handle to be a full-time PG.

Feel like the entire Jazz guard rotation needs to be put on a rule of pass when you touch the paint.

If Ainge can find a way to maybe package him + sweetener such as Olynyk for an expiring such as Lowry I would pull the trigger especially now that Keyonte is starting. I like KO but this team in no way can cover defensively for him either. The Heat have always found a way to pick up reclamation projects and turn them into serviceable guys who of course immediately turn back into pumpkins once they leave Miami.

FWIW I watched the end of the OKC/Cle game to check in on Don and sure enough Garland couldn't handle the height of OKC and just about got played off the floor. Just like Locke predicted the good 6'-1" playmaking guards are going to be obsolete in a few years let alone a 6'-1" scoring guard types like Sexton.

I thought only 2 years are guaranteed and Rockets needed to spend money to get to cap floor?
