You gotta be kidding. It's not all too hard to tell a Japanese person from a Chinese person or a Vietnamese person from a Korean person.
I want to do a rant on this subject that I wanted to get off my chest...
When I was in High School someone said they are from Laos. Being the geography geek I am I said "oh Laos, that's right by Vietnam right?"
He than immediately said "I do not like this kid" and pointed at me with his thumb. This was in a club that a lot of my friends were a part of and it became a really awkward situation.
One of my other friends immediately walked up to me and said Asians don't like to be mixed together.
DUDE I NEVER SAID HE LOOKS VIETNAMESE, I said he comes from a country bordering Vietnam, most High School kids don't even know Laos exists so I wanted to acknowledge I know what country he is from.....!!!! I thought saying it would be a compliment.
I hate that kid, that memory has pissed me off way too much.
Also I want to do another side rant. Asians can't tell whites apart. Can you really tell that someone is German, or French, or Danish, or English just by looking at them? It is really hard to do (unless they speak of course and have an accent). Why do they get pissed off if we can't tell their bordering countries apart. I know most Chinese people have wider faces, Filipinos are a little darker etc etc but sometimes you get that one individual that throws you off. You can't tell what tribe someone in Africa is from or what nation someone who is white is from so don't get so pissed off when someone can't tell you apart from another Asian.
