Coronavirus

Not really on topic, but isn't any death like this an excess death? I get what they mean but seems like an odd phrase.

Excess death refers to any death above the natural range. If in a typical year Widgetopia had between 900 and 1,000 deaths, but in the most recent year they had 1,200 deaths, then it would be said that Widgetopia had 200 excess deaths because they had 200 more deaths than the top of the range of a typical year. The how and why of the deaths is irrelevant to being counted as an excess death.

I said I understand the concept. I just think it is an odd way to represent it.

it begs the question doesn't it
Without the answer, there's no basis to decide if the myocarditis results are better or worse than being unvaccinated.

i have no idea how the flow of info is regulated in the US but this is interesting. This woman was formerly the president of the peak medical association in Australian and a vigorous advocate of mandated vaccinations including young children and is the first quite high profile person to talk openly about such issues.
Yes, she is an embarrassing woo-meister. We have them aplenty (for example, the top medical professional of Florida, Dr. Joseph Ladapo, is similarly loopy). We have all kinds of grifters talking about this, and tons of stories about how people are being silenced/censored/etc. Open spigots of information, like sewage being pumped into our water pipes.

You're starting to take yourself down a path to being a full-blown anti-vaxxer. You need to check out your sources more carefully, and doubt your own instincts more.

lol you're so far off the mark it's hard to fathom. Not only do you deny natural immunity in those who've had Covid, you're also a vaccine injury denier. I have no idea why you have such a problem with these reports of doctors who speak up despite enormous pressure to not do so. The Australian government has allocation something like $100 million dollars to compensate the vaccine injured, and it's widely understood that these reactions are grossly underreported. You're for censorship of a free flow of information and pro Pfizer who are one of the most despicable companies around. And why you have such a problem with a risk vs reward view of vaccination now that we're in the age of omicron and the vaccines have been shown to be so poor at preventing infection and spread. You seem so zealous in your adherence to the merits of Covid vaccination as to not be able to open your mind to the problems, the data and the actual facts of the issue. And again you can shove "antivaxxer" up your rear end, it's just such a lazy argument and i'd expect better from you. I am very pro most vaccines, and i have had 2 Covid jabs and think it's a valuable tool. I encourage my mum to get her boosters. I just have a problem with this now being still given to younger healthy people because the justification for it is so poor, and the benefit / risk of continued boosters for those younger and healthy is just garbage. You might want to take a look in the mirror your own biases are so strong and so drive how you look at all these issues that your judgement is severely clouded.

I have not read the report. What’s your take on that trend? I was under the impression any notable increase would point to people dying at home from Covid. That’s all I recall.

nope these figures exclude Covid related deaths. It means that a statistically very significant number of more people are dying per month than what one would normally expect. Why ? who knows, but i find it a little alarming at the least that it's not being looked into. My first guess at least here is that it is probably as a result of people not having been receiving their regular medical care over the last few years, so that preventable diseases such as heart disease, cancers etc are being treated too late. Pure guess though

You’ll need to explain better, as I’m unclear here. If someone died at home, say from pneumonia, but it was actually due to complications from Covid, but death listed as pneumonia, it would not have been counted as a Covid death. So, how is it that NO excess deaths included death from Covid? How is that even possible? How could Covid have not claimed people that were not counted as dying from Covid? How could Covid deaths not be part of the excess deaths “mystery”?

I’m not a medical researcher, and have no way to interpret this based on knowledge, training, or experience. I have none….

I'm not at all confused by quackery (aka "integrative and complementary medicine"). If the stuff worked, it would just be medicine.

Not only do you deny natural immunity in those who've had Covid,
?????? Do you have me confused with someone else?

you're also a vaccine injury denier. I have no idea why you have such a problem with these reports of doctors who speak up despite enormous pressure to not do so.
This language is straight out of the anti-vaxxer playbook. You're falling down the rabbit hole.

The Australian government has allocation something like $100 million dollars to compensate the vaccine injured, and it's widely understood that these reactions are grossly underreported.
I don't know about Australia, but here we have the V-safe system and the VAERS database, so if anything things get over-reported.

You're for censorship of a free flow of information and pro Pfizer who are one of the most despicable companies around.
Whom have I advocated to be censored? Most pharmaceuticals are despicable, but that doesn't change the effectiveness and safety of the vaccines.

And why you have such a problem with a risk vs reward view of vaccination now that we're in the age of omicron and the vaccines have been shown to be so poor at preventing infection and spread.
I don't. I have continually asked you for the risk/reward numbers you use to justify your stance. You continually duck instead of providing them, only to come back in a couple of weeks with the same rhetoric and no more information.

You seem so zealous in your adherence to the merits of Covid vaccination as to not be able to open your mind to the problems, the data and the actual facts of the issue.
I await your laying out the facts that support you. Instead, you link to studies of no benefit, make insinuations without evidence, and JAQ off.

And again you can shove "antivaxxer" up your rear end, it's just such a lazy argument and i'd expect better from you. I am very pro most vaccines, and i have had 2 Covid jabs and think it's a valuable tool.
So you have said. Yet, you're adopting some of their language and rhetoric style.

I just have a problem with this now being still given to younger healthy people because the justification for it is so poor, and the benefit / risk of continued boosters for those younger and healthy is just garbage.
Where are the numbers you use to justify this?

You might want to take a look in the mirror your own biases are so strong and so drive how you look at all these issues that your judgement is severely clouded.
Always good advice.

lol thank you for emphasizing the whole point.
Do you have the answer? What are the myocarditis risks to young people who catch covid19, and how do they compare to the risks from the vaccine?

If you don't have this information, you know who I think does? The WHO and the CDC.
