Hmmm
...and still ZERO deaths from omicron.
Omicron Seems to Spread Quickly. But It Hasn’t Caused Any Deaths.
It could be better at skirting natural immunity.
Hmmm
Apparently, MTG believes cancer is contagious?
Except, she is the Republican base. Most Republicans support her directly or indirectly. Just think how many Trumpers support her comparison of Covid to cancer? Those who indirectly support her are those who admit that Covid is different from cancer but won’t stand up to her because “the left” is deemed worse.lolol the stupidity boggles the mind
How long has it even been around? While I hope it’s less virulent than delta, I still want to be cautious for the next few months to see what this variant actually does. I’m still recovering from Covid from over one year ago....and still ZERO deaths from omicron.

Exactly. Early results are surprisingly positive, but it is still very early. We've only known about it for, what? 10 days? 2 weeks? How long has it even been around? Boebert is also pretty ****ing dumb. Like I'd honestly like to see some sort of standardized test for legislators, their knowledge of the Constitution, national law, how government works, international geography, world history, etc.. I bet there would be some of the 30 year vets that know less, honestly because of cognitive decline and actual dementia or mental health issues, but of the under 80 crowd I bet these two would be looking pretty dumb. She may be the dumbest person to ever hold office in Washington. I mean that sincerely and knowing how it’s already filled with morons, that’s saying something.
Sounds good, although I'd be interested to see how you could avoid racial bias. Or even class bias. (Rich people would do better on the tests, right? Due to better access to education?)Boebert is also pretty ****ing dumb. MTG, Boebert, and Gaetz are clearly the base of the GOP. It’s where Fox News and social media have taken the majority of R voters. It’s why MTG is one of the top fundraisers in the entire Congress. She is the party’s base.
It has been in the population since at least November 9th. It is also worth noting that it isn't only the mortality statistics but also universal reporting of mild symptoms, including no loss of smell or taste, as supporting evidence to the idea of omicron being a far less dangerous pathogen than what we've been dealing with.Exactly. Early results are surprisingly positive, but it is still very early. We've only known about it for, what? 10 days? 2 weeks?
*EDIT* OK, it was first reported to WHO on 11/24, based on samples taken between 11/11 and 11/14. So, yeah, 2 weeks. Per the CDC website.
They're going up the Greek alphabet except they skipped 2 letters. They skipped Nu because it sounds like "new" and would lead to a who's-on-first confusion, and they skipped Xi because they're worried they'd upset the Chinese government. That gives us Omicron.Omicron is a stupid name. They should have named it Karen or something.
