It looks like the government is getting out of the shot and passing it on to insurance companies and people.

Seems like a good move. i was getting vaccinated by a doctor (people) at my doctors office and providing my insurance anyway rather than getting vaccinated by the government. So nothing changes for me at least.

You cannot trust anyone who is trying to tell you anything, except the guy that is telling you not to trust anyone who is telling you anything. That guy, you can trust.
Makes sense. That’s why I donate weekly to Trump and Alex Jones. Those two poor people can’t catch a break. Wait, where did my life savings go???

I’ll never understand it when people act like getting vaccinated is a great hassle or sacrifice. The last Covid booster I got, I got it at Harmons. I was going to do some grocery shopping anyway. It took maybe 6 mins To wait in line, have the tech look up my info, and then for the pharmacist to give me the shot. Then I completed my grocery shopping. I was In and out of the store within 20 mins. The booster came with a mild ache in my arm and I haven’t (knock on wood) been sick with anything after. And the shot was free.

So I sacrificed 20 mins to go to the grocery store, a place I already was going to, and had a mild sore arm for maybe one day. Watching most of the crappy 4th quarter jazz meltdowns last year was more painful and that was just me sitting on my butt watching sports.

The select subcommittee's findings that Trump White House officials deliberately and repeatedly sought to bend FDA's scientific work on coronavirus treatments and vaccines to the White House's political will are yet another example of how the prior administration prioritized politics over public health," Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.), who heads the panel, said in a statement.

"As today's report makes clear, senior Trump administration officials undermined public health experts because they believed doing so would benefit the former president politically—plotting covertly with known conspiracy theorists to dangerously push a disproven coronavirus treatment, bullying FDA to change its vaccine guidance, and advocating for federal investigations into those who stood in their way," he continued.

According to the new report, Trump officials:

  • Orchestrated coordinated pressure campaigns to reauthorize and expand use of hydroxychloroquine;
  • Pushed to authorize use of convalescent plasma—which used blood from people who have recovered from Covid-19—ahead of the 2020 Republican National Convention, while "grossly misrepresenting the data" on the therapy; and
  • Attempted to derail the FDA's Covid-19 vaccine guidance ahead of the 2020 presidential election.
"These assaults on our nation's public health institutions undermined the nation's coronavirus response," said Clyburn, "and are precisely why we must never again settle for leaders who prioritize politics over keeping Americans safe."

And how do you know if you’re vulnerable?
If you are old, overweight, and haven't had COVID or a booster within the past 18 months, you're probably vulnerable but new COVID isn't nearly as bad as original COVID was, at least on paper. I'm fully vaxed, not boosted, and have caught COVID twice now. For me it is not even a cold, but the weird tricks it plays with smelling things makes me very sure I didn't have false positives. YMMV.
