Dante Opts for Surgery

Nope, not the way it works. There's no "injured reserve" in basketball. I think you need to have 4 players that are going to be out long-term before you get a roster spot. The injury exception in the NBA only gives you extra money to spend, but the team still has to clear a roster spot.

Yep.

I think Dante has brittle ligaments. If you have unnatural strength or speed, your ligaments become weak and vunerable. I think high Myostatin levels lead to this.

lol. What kind of unnatural we are talking about? It's not like he is Usaine Bolt or even Russell Westbrook. Stop making Dante some kind of superhuman. Dude has quick first step, that's it. He is neither strong nor explosive athlete.

Not surprised at all about the 6-7 doctors. That's where you don't like what you're hearing, so you keep searching for someone to tell you something different. When we hadn't heard anything after 3-4 days, it seemed pretty obvious this was the case.

I'm glad he made the smart decision instead of having tunnel vision on his next contract.

I'm actually glad and I think it's the right call. The worst case scenario would have been trying to come back this year only to re-injure it and have to have surgery anyway. This way he can get it over with and come back healthy next year.

I totally agree with you. Besides, Exum is already a hesitant finisher as it is, if he comes back with his shoulder hurting that may make him even more tentative when finishing inside. Let it heal completely!

He is quicker than Westbrook. But not as explosive.
Book it

Dante's injury pales in comparison now after what happened to Hayward.

No, it doesn't. Dante will likely miss just as much time. It is just as sad for him, a 4th year player who will miss his second season due to an injury that happened before the season even started.

Just because the spectacle of the injury wasn't as gruesome doesn't mean the effects are less.

And as a Jazz fan Dante's injury is WAY more significant.
