What's new

Dear FRONT OFFICE: NO ONE WANTS TO WIN GAMES WITH RJ AND MW!

Yeah, but the five (plus maybe Gobert) should be playing all their minutes together and ALL have a usage rate of over 25%.

You want a combined usage rate of 125% from one group of players on the court?

I mean, how the hell can two vets playing 40-45 minutes a night combined be the difference between "I hate this season and must start threads about it" and "I love this season and suddenly I'm actually watching games and cheering the team on." Seems a little...flaky.

Its true though.

Play marv and jefferson jeremy evans and brandon rush type minutes and play burks and kanter the same minutes as trey and gordon...... these threads would dissappear and so would 90 percent of the complaining.

I'd love to believe you, but experience proves otherwise. People looking for a gripe will find a gripe.

I've praised the good things we've done. Getting rid of Sap, and Big Al. Didn't like losing Carroll, but dealt with it. Was worried Ty would make Burke earn his stripes too long. Ty gave him the reins right away. Praised it.

This isn't about finding something to complain about. This is about seeing this opportunity pass us by. What are our goals? What is the vision? Are we trying to win with two vets who won't help us get to the next level? Why are we playing them major minutes? What purpose does that serve for the big picture?

Now I know these questions are too big, and your scope is too small. So please just keep saying everyone here are whiny assholes. Much easier than actually looking, and respecting peoples points of view. Because if we are being honest, and you clearly aren't, everyone here loves the team. Why are YOU so negative about everything? Whoopie you love the Jazz this year, and want them to win as many games as possible. You aren't any greater of a fan. Get over yourself. Some of us want a title, or at least the possibility of one. No side is better than the other.

I agree. Its a good thing the fans don't run the team. We would have run everybody out of town on a rail and then want them back the minute they put up 20 on their next team. We as a group are FLAKES. So lets just enjoy the season. Let's congradulate the team on their success and be happy for what we have. That is a great core and some great vets (who are great people) to show the young fellas the ropes.

Just as an example, Kanter might have been an absolute basket case by now if he continued down the road he was headed as a starter. Same goes for Burks. They are excelling in their roll of coming off the bench and seamingly not complaining about it. And if their not complaining why are we?

Playing with vets in lineups that make sense helps the youth on the team learn to play winning NBA basketball. Throwing players out there without well-defined roles, in roles they're not suited to or ready to fill, or in lineups that make their success as players more difficult hinders development. It's that simple.

I'm all for RJ's minutes to be cut in favor of Burks, but this is a pretty minor gripe considering how quickly the young talent on the team has matured this season.

Haven't they learned that the last 3 years with Big AL, and Sap? Your argument is valid, however we are way past that imo. Favors, Kanter, Hayward, and Burks know their roles, and don't have to have their hands held anymore. The only one who could have learned something is Trey, and RJ and Williams aren't teaching him how to win games.

No. Are you really this ****ing dense? All 5 players are taking on vastly different roles this season. Gordo and Kanter (and arguably Burks) struggled a ton early in the season. Burks is being brought off the bench to maximize the combined opportunity of Burks, Burke and Hayward to play on-ball. The young players are leading this team, with support from Marvin and RJ, who've done a pretty damn good job filling their complementary roles.

This season? Kanter was a ****ing mess starting. There's really no need to revisit the Burks off the bench discussion.

Kanter was doing just fine.
Leading the team in scoring, shooting like 54 percent from the field.

I feel that lucas, ian clarke, harris, biedrins, tinsley all getting minutes was a much bigger problem than kanter starting.

This is just my opinion, and maybe you disagree gvc, but i think that burke, marvin, evans, and rush are better rotation players than lucas, clarke, harris, tinsley, and biedrins.

The real question is this:
Would gvc, frank, jim les, scorpjazz, and lunatic wolf be upset if the core 5 were all getting around 33 minutes per game and marvin and jeffersons minutes each went down around 15 minutes (like we thought was gonna happen before the season started) and the team kept looking good out there?

I'd be slightly more excited. About the difference between a banana split without a cherry on top and one with a cherry. I'm not exactly going to soil my pants because a couple of our players would be playing 5 more minutes a game.

Cool
So 90 percent of jazz fans really want burks and kanters minutes to go up and marvin jeffys to go down, and the other 10 percent would be ok with it.

So sounds like something that should happen is all.

Im mildly dissappointed by the current rotation but im happy that we are getting to see our young guys more than ever before!

Then stop complaining and enjoy the game. Sit back, grab a nice burger and a drink and just watch the game. I bet you won't even know who played how many minutes and it won't matter. The Jazz are fun to watch.

Case in point. Last night, I really liked seeing Burke throw this almost awkward looking overhead/sidearm bullet pass. He did it twice, once to Enes and once to Marvin.

Honestly, this. The fact that you guys can't enjoy watching the Jazz play cuz Burke is playing like 27mpg or w/e instead of high 30s is outrageous.

You will NEVER encounter a coach that makes decisions that you consistently agree with. Look back at when this board first started, and look at all of the "PLAY FESENKO MOARRR" threads that consistently piled on Sloan (InGameStrategy comes to mind).

****ing get your panties out of a knot, and quit bitching about the same things ad-nauseum. Cheezus-H it gets old.
