What's new

Dennis Lindsey feels he owes Richard Jefferson a lot

Well, why on earth does he constantly harangue us with the wonders of Ty Corbin?
Because Ty isn't nearly as bad as the average Jazzfanz poster thinks. I've yet to see anyone construct a decent argument against franklin. I think vslice could, but he's not here anymore.

This. The Jazz hired Corbin on Sloan's recommendation. I would think Ol' Jerry knows a bit about coaching.

Why do the jazz have to show loyalty to some guy who has already announced he is going title hunting next year?

Who is billy Duffy going to 'deliver' to the jazz in return for letting Biedrens dress and not play for all of December?

Maybe mr. Tanner will let the jazz sign Luke Ridinour or Shane battier next offseason?

But for the life of me I can't figure out why the Jazz need to be concerned with building a relationship with a player that has said he wants to leave, and an agent who only has one other client.

The Jazz might say they have not lost their way, but they have certainly lost me along the way.

Well done. I was thinking about this. Perhaps the Jazz management wants to be perceived as being fair with veteran players or free agents. Jefferson worked hard during summer and came in great shape.

In summer leagues and training camp they are known for giving free agents an opportunity to showcase themselves.

DL probably wanted to give a message to agents and soon-to be- free agents: "if you work hard, you'll get an opportunity". Who knows.

Are you serious? First of all, Ty has been bad since day one. Second, we all knew we weren't going anywhere with Jeffy and Sap, who are good players and the prevailing wisdom was develop the young guys and prepare for the future. But Ty's reliance on vets has worked against this. And even when he did rely on them, he often used them poorly having Jeffy play over Favors on important defensive possessions, or having Foye guard the other team's go-to guy. I don't know how many games he lost because of his poor use of players. Now, when we traded our good vets and the time is here to give minutes to Kanter and Burks, he's still playing vets who are less talented than ones we let go ahead of them. You could say that playing the vets is also allowing the Jazz to win games that aren't in their best interest to win, considering their position in the coming draft.

These arguments have been made by others on the site, and more ... Keeping Corbin is indefensible. And the overwhelming majority of posters on the site agree with this. There is no conspiracy. It just seems that Franklin's defense of Corbin is not well supported and that he's really stretching the truth to defend him, which seems to me, to have a motive.

Then we shall take the fight to him!

J/k I have too much respect to clutter up his page, even if it would generate traffic. vslice could use me as his whipping boy tho, that's sure enough.

Don't forget Ben10 -- easily top 3 smartest ball posters when inclined, if not best by a large margin.

Mellow posted in another thread that jeffersons agent only has one other client..... some dude I never heard of that makes like 600 thousand dollars per year...... so ya
Not the point. ANY agent will see how the Jazz treats their players, and will advise them accordingly.

It's nice to see hacks like GVC and Jedi come out of the woodwork to rationalize for the Jazz's directionless state. Some apologists will always be apologists.

Nothing more to see here folks. Just move on.

So we are telling all agents that if you have a young talented player that is superior to the old vet they should not sign with Utah? But they are telling the old washed up vets that if they need somewhere to go where they will play Utah is a great destination?
.
And this is the message we want sent why?

Oh the irony. Thriller calling someone a hack.

To quote someone famous: "Grow up"
