Deron Williams-From Hero to Zero

Three negs Cappy? You sure are a thin-skinned little smurf. Is Deron your concubine or something?

Those were dislikes for crappy posts. Since you seem confused, I just negged you so you know the difference.

Oh, and thin-skinned suggests I couldn't handle some personal criticism. It has nothing to do with thinking your opinion sucks ***.

BTW, your thread is trash. Hive a nice day!;)

In my mind, not fulfilling his contract and walking out like he did midseason was as much of an affront to the organization as Williams' histrionics anyway. Who does that? I can't think of another NBA coach that has walked out on a team under contract like that. (I mean J. Kidd did that to the Nets, but that was another story...actually more despicable.)

Frank Layden.

No worries, I'm not nearly alone in my opinion. You can dislike as many posts as you want, and in this instance three dislikes in a row suggest that you have a problem with my take but are too lazy to give yours. It's a lazy way to handle a conversation but hey, you have that right, so click away.

Yes, the world is full of idiots. Hence, the dislike button.

And this conversation has been beaten to death. Nice work stirring it up once again, though. The petty need a place to remind everyone how much they enjoy holding a grudge over something that was blown way out of proportion in the first place.

Jerry quit on the team, not Deron. CP3, Howard and Melo all demanded trades in similar situations while Deron remained loyal, yet Jerry gets a pass for quitting and all the blame goes on Deron.

So you're the arbiter of what deserves discussion. Got it. And even though you claim the conversation has been "beaten to death" you can't resist chiming in with your opinion. At least you spared us your 3rd person reference this time.

it's a little hard to fathom people holding a grudge given that it's 5 years on, that DWill still lives in Utah, and that he's obviously older & matured and has been nothing but gracious and complimentary to both the Jazz and Jerry Sloan in the last year or two. It's kindof embarrassing that petty minded small man syndrome fans are still booing him. Ffs just move and be happy and stop the ridiculous booing

It is petty, bush league, and classless. Let it go folks. Even if he hadn't made multiple comments since leaving that have been positive about the Jazz and the state of Utah, which he has, it is far past the time of letting it go.

Oh please, save your sanctimonious ******** for ******* who care. Make your own thread about it. Bashing Deron will always be necessary for what he did to our team and coach Sloan. I never bash Kanter but I will bash Deron. Just because it has been five years and he said that we are a good team doesn't change his actions while he was here. I doubt Jerry would laugh anything off.

You never bash Kanter ? Are you ok dude?

I have to disagree. Read the reports from what had happened. Deron stopped running Sloan's plays. There were multiple reports claiming Sloan wanted to discipline Deron. But old man Miller had passed on and Greggy Boy didn't have Sloan's back. KOC refused to let Sloan take any action. So Sloan quit after his meeting with KOC, when he had finally had enough. That's not my fantastical story (certain poster who will attack me for this post). You can go back to the DN and Trib and read what others wrote. But maybe they made that all up. I guess that's possible.

I read everything that was written on the subject at the time. And nothing convinced me that Sloan couldn't have dealt with Deron had he wanted to. I even read where KOC and/or Miller pleaded with Sloan to stay. That doesn't have the ring of "didn't have Sloan's back" and "refused to let Sloan take any action". Everything I've read has convinced me that Sloan just got tired of it. The aggravation of dealing with Deron was likely the straw that broke the camel's back, but I never saw any compelling evidence that KOC and Miller literally prevented Sloan from dealing with a player.

Wow, just read the Nets five-year look back piece posted in this thread. Good stuff.

Deron did not make Sloan quit he convinced him he was too old and tired to do the job competitively. Sloan finally saw the writing on the wall an hung his shoes up like any true competitor would. Deron was a fiery competitor an was not happy the team was not doing practice an film review cause Jerry was to old an tired to.

I applaud both of them for transitioning the organization in to a new era look what we have cause Sloan quit an Deron got dealt. A top 4 NBA team with cap space an tons of draft picks.
