Here is my favorite way to eat potatoes:

Actually had something very similar to that last night for dinner, only with Rinderrouladen as the meat.

Little red potatoes with a dash of creole is about my favorite food of all time. Those German potato balls are also the bomb-diggity, but I rarely get to eat them.

Potatoes are a staple carb in most eastern Europe countries. I never used to eat rice until late 30's, ( still don't like it that much anyway) all our meat dishes were served with potatoes and vegetables. Most of our national dishes involve potatoes. Here are some pictures of just a few delicious potato meals popular in Eastern Europe:).

Potato pancakes, usually served with sour cream or shredded bacon.

Zepelins:). These are like baked potato dumplings ( about 10x size) stuffed with meat or cottage cheese. Again use sauce with bacon and onions or sour cream.

Kugelis. Something like potato pie baked in oven. Can be stuffed with chicken, pork or other meats.

And final and most unique. Potato sausage called Vedarai. Basically it is pig gut stuffed with potato and spices and baked in oven. Served hot with sour cream or bacon - yummy!
