If we want long term success I would still hope we tank one more year. Do not think we become legit contenders without a one more solid lottery player add from 2026 draft. Clarkson won’t get minutes next year, would be a patty mills situation IMO. Would fee bad for Collins sexton but if everything intact for 2027 and beyond, look out

Maybe there's a chance he ends up back in ATL. They are 2-8 the last 10 games and Jalen Johnson is out for the season.

Sadly the Spurs own their FRP. Collins back to ATL makes a lot of sense and I'd donate Clarkson if it helps get their season back on track.

0% chance he goes to Atlanta

The Milwaukee deal I threw out in the trade rumors thread with Collins/Sexton to Milwaukee for Middleton/Portis/Pat and their 2031 first is the deal I could see. They may only be sending a second in the deal rumored with the Wiz where its Middleton for Kuzma (and likely another player). I'd think Kuzma < Collins value and Sexton is a nice piece for them to work with. That would be as big of a crown jewel as the Suns pick imo, so we might have to add some seconds to season.

I voted "no" though just because the contract size and finding a partner isn't easy.

Here is a warcrime I just cooked up? Who says no?

Bucks get 3 useful parts that aren't dying and save infinity dollars. Pistons get sexton for Tech, Sasser and their second rounder they own from toronto. We get the first and the salary filler and can maybe recycle Middleton next year and maybe Bobby this year (or next). The 2031 Bucks first is a big asset so maybe they could do better. If Bucks wanted Sexton instead of the other stuff that's cool too.

I'm out of the loop on who can offer what. But it would surprise me if teams weren't at least interested in making a meaningful offer for him if they have the assets to do so. He's basically a 50/40/90 guy this year, only 27, with sufficient size / length. At minimum, an awesome 3rd big who can give you meaningful, productive minutes in the stretch run / playoffs.

I assume his perceived value largely hinges on 1) does he opt in/out, and 2) if he does opt out, can you re-sign him at a # that works for you.

My optimism that we will move our draft assets for a bona fide star this offseason or next continues to wane. As such, I lean towards trading the JCs / Sexton for whatever we can get and fully embracing the tank in 2025-2026. What that means for our relationship with Lauri, and what we do with him, I do not know.

But on Collins, I'd prefer to sell on him now to 1) increase our odds of landing a star player elsewhere (draft or via newly secured draft capital) over the next two offseasons and 2) ensure more cap flexibility moving forward (assuming we would never take back a ****** contract).

He'd be a nice piece for the long-term, there's no question. But I would hesitate to put significant commitment there when we have more important, foundational, roster-building priorities to address.

i don't know why we trade him, he fits into the veteran part of the timeline, he's younger than lauri, and as has been pointed out, he has been playing great lately At The Four.

Don't see Collins or Sexton as a great asset for MIL. Collins isn't playing next to both Giannis and Brook, and Sexton next to Dame is just asking to get annihilated in the playoffs. I would be more inclined to believe in a multi-team trade where we send those guys to MIA, Jimmy to PHI, PG to MIL, and we take all the crap and some picks....something like that.

Middleton would be the best player for the Bucks out of him, Sexton, and Collins.

Bucks draft assets would be horny as hell whether you’re trying to draft with them or hold them hostage, either of which I would be stoked about. Not sure things are calibrated for us to get any, but I’ll take swaps if it comes down to it.

Based on how aggressively they are shopping Khris I think they may not believe he will be there when they need him.

Fine points, but if Collins shoots there like he is here right now then I see no issue and actually think it’s a great fit. They could really use some more athleticism/rim pressure beyond Giannis.

And @Handlogten's Heros , Bucks get more 2nds, at least.
