I took the 150% value from you yourself, but if we want to get away from made up percentages I will just say that's it's significantly better than the Bridges package. You line up Podz+Moody+GSW all the picks compared to what the Nets got and the Warriors package clears it easily.

I'm not the one negotiating, so all I really care about is the hard line. My hard line is I would take Moody and all the picks. I don't care to larp as Ainge and ask for everything, the Warriors aren't looking at my posts to make their decision. Moody+all the picks is a preferred situation to R+E Lauri.

Add in the likely guaranteed top 5 pick and is looks pretty damn good to me.

That’s not giving Lauri away at all. It’s probably actually better than the Gobert trade. Podz is really ****ing good and the Warriors might be a play-in team with the bottom falling out when those picks come due.

We don’t have to trade him, but everybody has to get a grip and on the one hand understand this is a walking 23/8 on 50/40/90 that’s 7 feet tall and in his prime, while on the other hand he’s an expiring contract that functionally can’t be extended after being traded and is problematic for the rebuild. Both can be true.

I’m trying to drive towards a realistic trade package that keeps the most important parts of the deal pre-extension. Parties may still walk and people can disagree whether it’s worth it for their side. But it’s certainly not nothing.
Also if we keep Lauri maybe he’s the guy that gets the god father haul. I’m not trading him for just some prospect with a little potential none to be an allstar imo.

I’ve got a grip, but crappy picks and Podz? I’d rather tank with Lauri
What makes you think that they will be crappy picks? I remember a few years ago when Houston traded Harden to the nets people were saying that they got robbed and now we know that they did the robbing.

And there probably isn't a minute you could give to Brice in the near term that wouldn't be better served by giving it to Cody or Hendricks. If we didn't have those guys to develop. If we further pair down there may be room to develop Brice.
And there's more rookies coming. The Jazz will make a wrong decision on somebody and cut them too soon and they will go on to flourish somewhere, it's unavoidable, but you have to make those decisions at some point because it's impossible to equally develop that many young players.

Lacob being a dumb dumb is a reason why the GSW picks are so appealing. The Warriors are good because they have Curry. They even tried to trade Curry on Lacob's watch. I want the Warriors picks when they no longer have Curry. They could be Kangz level of stupid without their all time great.
I mean that is incredibly hyerbolic. Lacob is really high on his own farts, but he isnt that bad.

I think Podz has the same or better chance at becoming an all-star as Sexton did/does. I think he could be a big ****ing deal and there's a reason the Warriors and Jazz have both designated him as must-have in the deal.

And if I wasn't clear, uhh, this is in the godfather class of offers. This is a bit short of the Mitchell/Gobert deals which is insane since he was in one of the deals and - I cannot stress this enough - an expiring contract (and is more problematic to move on a max deal).

Do we actually think Utah is negotiating on what they want for Lauri, or are just straight up saying "No" and making what they would accept open-ended and unclear?

How good do you guys think the warriors would be if they added Lauri and only gave up Moody, Payton and the picks and swaps? I would still have them behind the thunder, wolves, nugs, griz and mavs. Then they are bunched with the Rockets, Pelicans, Lakers, kings and suns without a ton of separation.

They could beat anyone in a playoff series which is all that really matters when you have a GOAT on your team. Regular season, maybe 4th/5th seed?

There has been some insiders saying that we must have Podz in that deal. That could be them speculating but could also be something they have heard from either side.
